Atheists, if your Evolution is so good, how do you explain lemmings? [Spirituality & Religion]

Lemmings like to kill themselves. According to the theory of Evolution all behaviour of animals exists because it makes them stronger as a species.

So how does deciding to kill yourself benefit the species? It doesn't. Only if the lemmings who killed themselves had bad genes, but how would they even know that?

It reduces the amount of the population and makes it easier for the survivors to forage for food and build nests. It also makes it easier to find mates. Less population = less competition.
This has nothing to do with athiests.

Human beings in South America and other parts of the world used to use human sacrifice for the same reason. Just ask the Incan's and Mayan's.
