Many geologists disagree and find all kinds of evidence of the flood including much of our fossil record.

Tectonic shift, my boy. As the tectonic plates shift, they sometimes collide and one is forced up. This is how mountains form. So when a sea bed gets forced up, suddenly all the remains of sea animals that were once on the ocean floor are now on dry land. And of course just changing sea levels.
