If everything i'll ever do is written down before i'm even born, then how do i actually have free will rather than just the illusions that i am acting under free will along a path set before me?

You don't. If everything is predetermined, you have no power to change it. Luckily that quote comes from a book of myths and superstitions, it's all fiction, not to be taken seriously.

Yeah that's the problem i'm having. But free will is necessary to the foundation of the bible.
