Is Black Lives Matter a religious movement? [Spirituality & Religion]

I don’t mean literally - just whether is shares similar characteristics; chanting, kneeling, ive even heard the rhetoric “original sin” used by activists referring to country’s built on slavery/imperialism etc.

Historically, times of great stress such as pandemics/wars very often lead to religious revivals. Except society is a lot more atheistic nowadays so this is more of secularised political revival.
No. It's not. And all religions don't kneel and chant.

According to the two women who were part of the SJW crowd, yes BLM and antifa and all other SJWs are part of a religious cult. I agree with them. This has nothing to do with the pandemic nor the death of a guy in police custody. This is the result of massive indoctrination efforts by academe. Leftism is a death cult much like Jim Jones and all the other kooks that have gone before. Witness the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, Communist China, Cambodia etc. Mass deaths occur when ever the left takes over.

The black lives matter movement is not at all religious as far as I can make out in fact it seems to me far more politically motivated
@Speedyman You're right.

This is from About section on the same website
#BlackLivesMatter was founded in 2013 in response to the acquittal of Trayvon Martin’s murderer. Black Lives Matter Foundation, Inc is a global organization in the US, UK, and Canada, whose mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes. By combating and countering acts of violence, creating space for Black imagination and innovation, and centering Black joy, we are winning immediate improvements in our lives.

We are expansive. We are a collective of liberators who believe in an inclusive and spacious movement. We also believe that in order to win and bring as many people with us along the way, we must move beyond the narrow nationalism that is all too prevalent in Black communities. We must ensure we are building a movement that brings all of us to the front.

We affirm the lives of Black queer and trans folks, disabled folks, undocumented folks, folks with records, women, and all Black lives along the gender spectrum. Our network centers those who have been marginalized within Black liberation movements.

We are working for a world where Black lives are no longer systematically targeted for demise.

We affirm our humanity, our contributions to this society, and our resilience in the face of deadly oppression.

The call for Black lives to matter is a rallying cry for ALL Black lives striving for liberation.
No where did I see the quote you posted.

@SW-User So you fail to see the marxism in that? Says a lot about your naivete. Have a nice ignorant life.
SW-User
@hippyjoe1955 I I don't see the marxism in that because I'm not ignorant as you are, nor do I believe in conspiracy theories as you do.

Furthermore, make sure you read what Marxism is before making a fool of yourself on here. Marxism is the political and economic theories of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, later developed by their followers to form the basis for the theory and practice of communism.

A movement that focuses on police brutality of Black American men, has nothing to do with political and economic theories surrounding capitalism or economic development or communism, etc.

His name is the name to be saved by.

@GodSpeed63 in your religion. Again, you both think everyone should subscribe to your world. Start learning to tolerate other people.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@basilfawlty89
in your religion.
I'm not religious. Religion has nothing to do with being saved.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
I hope not. It's not like they don't have points when talking about racism but the last thing we need is another religion.

The movement is trying to get some votes from those who normally vote Republican to vote for Democrat.
zonavar68 · 51-55, M
It's no more 'religious' that fake religions such as Scientology, etc.
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
BLM is Funded by Soros. it haves nothing to do with Black people. they get paid
BLM could be seen as fitting under liberation theology.
