No. I realize now that I really have been surrounded by idiots all this time.

I was raised with right wing allegiances, but I learnt a lot about the impact of poverty and vulnerability on human beings - and more particularly how social and economic policy contribute to these things. I learnt to analyse policies in their practical application, and how to critically examine information and cut through forms of propaganda and my own cognitive biases (only as far as I can see, of course.) As a result I have no strong political allegiances but tend to vote left of centre because my vote isn't just about how it affects me personally.

My beliefs have changed in a lot of ways. Life experience tends to do that.

Nope. Childhood beliefs have gone.

There's something out there but it ain't an old man in the clouds that sacrifices his offspring...

@walabby I'd just like to add that whatever other people believe that helps them through this difficult life is fine with me, as long as they are not hurting anyone else.

I was brought up with right wing political views. I've since spent a lot of time with the poor and am sufficiently educated to be able to research. I'm not socialist for those who like to put people in boxes rather than listen.

I support politics that has certain values:
* Act on the environment using evidence-based policies. Don't ignore science because party donations from corporate interests are buying what you say and stand for.
* Decent wages. You can't afford to pay properly, your business can't afford to hire.
* Every child deserves an equal opportunity to succeed, access to health care, a decent education. Policies that promote social mobility so that children of poverty can make it.
* Appropriate social support for the down and out. Losing your job shouldn't mean misery and desperation - the shortage of work is partly government economic management.

I don't have party allegiance.

No I don't. Once I was old enough I started to question what had been drummed into me and from then formed my own opinions which were very different.
No. I have abandoned the religion of my childhood, although I still identify with it culturally and ethnically.

Total opposite. I'm the devil incarnate to my family. Little do they know that's impossible.
