Is what you believe now still what you were raised to believe growing up? [Spirituality & Religion]

I was raised with right wing allegiances, but I learnt a lot about the impact of poverty and vulnerability on human beings - and more particularly how social and economic policy contribute to these things. I learnt to analyse policies in their practical application, and how to critically examine information and cut through forms of propaganda and my own cognitive biases (only as far as I can see, of course.) As a result I have no strong political allegiances but tend to vote left of centre because my vote isn't just about how it affects me personally.
