Question for Christians but anyone can answer. [Spirituality & Religion]

I have a question for anyone but primarily for Christians.

(I asked three people this question and two answered. The third one keeps ignoring it and only he knows why. A couple of users said he likes me asking it cause he has a crush on me but meh I don’t know. Maybe.)

Do you read and follow every word of the Bible?

I feel you're asking a loaded question. Should you read every word of the bible? Yes. Should you follow every word? What do you mean by follow?
@Qwerty14 Should someone who reads the Bible follow every word like not wearing clothing of mixed material?
@wilderflower Oh so you mean should someone follow the old rules stated in the Torah. Nope. Jews don't even follow the Torah that much anymore
@Qwerty14 So you don’t follow every word?
@wilderflower I doubt anyone does. The whole point of Jesus was he opposed the old laws. You can't follow his teachings and the old laws without contradicting yourself

I feel you're asking a loaded question.

Absolutely! 100%
She laid out Christian bait!
Designed to draw Christians here to be persecuted.

Have a Happy Easter Qwerty.
@Budwick Then why did you answer?
Budwick · 70-79, M
@wilderflower Anyone familiar with language can see through the intent of your question.
You've drawn many of the standard SW anti-Christians to your question as well.
Who knows? Maybe one of you will read something here - and see the light!
@Budwick I’m asking a legitimate question.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@wilderflower Agreed.
And, I gave a legitimate reply.
@Budwick So according to you what is my intent?
Budwick · 70-79, M
@wilderflower I think your intent is the same as many of your previous questions on the topic of Christianity. Attempting to ask questions that are designed to trip up those that answer.
@Budwick If you answer honestly you don’t have anything to worry about.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@wilderflower I ALAWAYS answer honestly.
Right now, the only thing I'm 'worried' about is whether or not you will ever get to your point before it warms up enough to go outside and enjoy the beautiful day the Lord hath made!
@Budwick in fairness, I asked for clarification and she gave me it. I give her the benefit of the doubt when it comes to asking a loaded question
@Budwick You’re a big boy. A 60-something year old should be able to make decisions on his own. I already said nobody’s forcing you to stay.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Qwerty14 OK. I see that now.
Sorry - I did not mean to put words in your mouth.

Happy Easter.
@Budwick Happy Easter my friend. May you and your loved ones be blessed.
@Qwerty14

s. The whole point of Jesus was he opposed the old laws

Hmmm. I don't think that is the whole point of Jesus. He says himself that he has not come to abolish the old law and that not one word of the old law should be forgotten.
What he does do is soften the old law. Like if your donkey gets stuck in a hole on the sabbath, yeah, get it out of there, no worries.

On what grounds do you suggest that Jesus was is opposition to the old laws?
@Pikachu not to abolish the old laws... What does he say directly after that? Don't cut a line in half. You change its meaning.

@Pikachu
What he does do is soften the old law.

Ahhh, no.

“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill” (Matthew 5:17).
@Qwerty14

..but to fulfill them. Truly i tell you, until heaven and earth pass away that not one stroke of the old law shall be forgotten until all is accomplished.

Yeah i remember.

Pretty sure heaven and earth haven't passed away yet so what is your justification for saying that Jesus was in opposition to the old law?
@Pikachu His death fulfilled them. That's the whole point. You read words fine but your ability to understand them is severely lacking. Do you have a bible study group or religious friends you can turn to so you can better understand the good book?
@Budwick

Ahhh, yes.
You're making my point for me lol.
He softens the hard line on the old law. We see this when the pharisees try to trap him by asking if it's ok to heal someone on the sabbath. He's just like "Let's be practical about this, if you need to help your family or your animals then yeah, get it done even on the sabbath."
He didn't say not to keep the sabbath holy, he just relaxed the restrictions.
@Qwerty14

His death fulfilled them.

No i don't think so.
Remember, he said until heaven and earth pass away and all is accomplished.
Heaven and earth have not passed away.
This suggests that his death and resurrection were not the end, not the fulfillment.
I imagine that would be in reference to his return when humanity will ascend to heaven.

So i'll ask you once again, what is your justification for saying that Jesus was in opposition to the old law?

A tip: Your answer should not include what you think about my ability to understand the scriptures and should focus instead on validating your own position and/or showing where my interpretation is in error.
@Pikachu I apologise for my answer not being to your liking. I'm not used to being asked such basic and idiotic questions so I'm not entirely sure how you to answer you without just saying "study more". There's a reason you're meant to talk to pros about scripture and not randoms on the internet.
