Double / Hidden Meanings In the Bible [Spirituality & Religion]

I have read several examples in the Bible that have New Age / Double meanings. At least if you read between the lines. For instance, Jesus said that his Father's home has many mansions. Some think that might mean the astral plane, different dimensional levels or the 7 chakras.

Jesus also said something about the kingdom of God is within us. Some people suggest that it might be related to Guides or meditation.

I want to find the meaning of these verses and I'd like more of them that are similar.

Any suggestions?

You said: Yes, but now that I am looking for it, I can't find it......but I wonder how valid the arguments are. What we read in the Bible is basically what was recorded from the personal bias of the monks that wrote them.

This is what I'm talking about. If you read the Bible, you will see that statement is inaccurate, and will know exactly how we got our Bible. This is why we need bible study and why God gave us His Word, so we wouldn't have to guess or rely on heresay and false teachers. If we were to say the Bible is anything but true, we are basically calling God a liar. Will you leave your soul to chance with man's idea of salvation and the way to heaven?

Jesus was speaking to the Pharisees at the time. Jesus was surely not saying that the kingdom of God resided within the Pharisees’ hearts. The Pharisees opposed Jesus and had no relationship with God. Jesus in other places denounced them as “whitewashed tombs” and “hypocrites” (Matthew 23:27).

The better translation would be “in your midst” or “among you.” Jesus was telling the Pharisees that He brought the kingdom of God to earth. Jesus’ presence in their midst gave them a taste of the kingdom life, as attested by the miracles that Jesus performed.

The kingdom of God is essentially inward, within man’s heart, as God changes the hearts of men, one at a time, as they receive the Holy Spirit, which transforms their life to be more Christ-like.

@LadyGrace You write very well. You sound like you have a good heart.
In Job where it's talking about the Behemoth and it says "What strength it has in its loins,
what power in the muscles of its belly!
Its tail sways like a cedar"

...tail means penis

lol seriously.

The place Jesus was building is called the New Jerusalem.. And yeah there are many mansions in that place.. This place is being built in heaven.. BUT it is not going to remain in heaven.. It will come out of Heaven and down to the New Earth at the time of the final judgement and we who are saved will live their with Jesus forever and ever.. We read in the book of Revelation..

Revelation 21: KJV
1 "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. {2} And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. {3} And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God."

The Kingdom of God comes within a person when the Holy Spirit indwells them.. This happens when they believe Jesus and trust in the Atonement Jesus secured on the cross for them..

So no chakras,, no eastern meditations needed for either of these things to happen and be had..
Personally i think new age stuff is wrong .. may i ask why they bother bringing the bible into their beliefs?

I think that since God is a spirit that when ours is with him it equals heaven.. because its a other worldly existence to be heavenly minded instead of being concerned with earthly matters

I was raised super religious but am not very religious at all myself tho i have faith (allegedly) in God and so forth

My personal belief is that it doesn't matter so much what a person thinks they believe so much as how they live and treat others

Anyway i apologize in advance for acting like an arrogant jerk about faith .. i get it from my dad (but at least im now aware of it (horribly narcissistic traits) 😒

@DallasCowboysFan Please don't take this the wrong way, but from your questions in your post, I'm wondering if you have read and studied the Bible, because all the answers you seek are there. How God created everything and every question you have asked, God has provided in His Word, so that we would not have to guess. We don't need chakras and all this stuff. None of that is mentioned in the Bible. God is not the author of confusion and we are not to be double minded from one religion to the other. It's not even about religion. Christianity is a way of life and commitment to the Lord. The Bible tells us everything we need to know but unless one is born again, God's Word says that people will not understand what it says without the Holy Spirit's interpretation. And we receive the Holy Spirit as soon as we are born again. That is, after we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior. I would be happy to discuss the Bible and answer your questions if you would like to pm me.

@LadyGrace I have studied the Bible, but never the way I wanted. When I was in college, I took a class called the History of Christianity and we went from the crucifixion thru each book of the New Testament.

I never wanted to enter the ministry, but I wanted to learn more about Jesus. I always said if I won the Lotto I would open a homeless shelter or a food bank. But, I have not won the lottery, but not playing it is a major reason why.

I don't know how many religions insist that they are Christian, and there must be 100 different branches of the Baptist Faith. Baptists, Lutherans, Methodists, Catholics, Presbyterians, Orthodox, they all have different belief systems and they all have different belief systems and rituals. They cannot all be right, and I don't think someone is wrong if they challenge them to seek answers.

I have tried several times to learn about the Bible, but I was bored. I learn best in an academic environment, when topics are taken one at a time and disected, like the individual books.

You could spend a lifetime studying the Bible and still have questions.

BTW, I did not take anything the wrong way, you did not insult me at all.

Nice profile introduction.

Thanks

@DallasCowboysFan Thank you. I believe it is right and wise to check out each denomination and see what they believe, however the devil can take advantage of that as well and cause confusion. Why do we need 60 million gods, when Father God chose only one to be Savior of the world? Jesus was quite capable of fulfilling His Father's plan, Himself. The Bible says there is a way that seems right to man, but the end thereof is destruction. Jesus said there are not many roads that lead to heaven, but that He is the only way to heaven.

I believe the Bible to be the most interesting and exciting literature of all time. What could be more exciting than the mysteries of God and facts revealed about our journey to heaven? I think if we're going there we need to know about it and read about it. One could study the Bible a million years and still not touch the plethora of wisdom, guidance, and newfound treasure of information found in the Bible, each and every time we read it. It is so exciting and interesting because it was inspired by the Holy Spirit and He tells us things that we never could have known in a million years.

I don't see where there's any contest against what the Bible says because God is no liar and He is incapable of error. I didn't see any other so-called "gods" dying for the sins of the world, so we may have eternal life, have you? It's really not about any religion or denomination. What it amounts to is that we are all in the same boat, headed for hell because our sins have condemned us, not God, until we have our sins forgiven, then we can once again reunite with our Father in Heaven, and are brought back into fellowship with Him. Jesus said ANY in this world can have eternal life, if they follow the standard for salvation that He set forth. Who would know better than He? No man on earth has suffered in such agony, so we could have eternal life in heaven, than Jesus. Jesus said, "NO MAN can come to the Father, but by ME." He meant what He said. God the Father did not approve nor appoint any other sin-filled person on earth, as Savior of the world. Jesus was the only one pure and sinless enough to be worthy of that divine appointment. Salvation is not based on what church we belong to or religious sect. Nor our performance or feelings.

I enjoyed reading your kind reply. Thank you.

The whole book is open to interpretation

I tried to find an article online that may have covered a similar topic.
But when I went online I did not find anything although I have seen them before.
But it's like a cop, you can't find one when you need one.
Try the gnostic scriptures. They are full of that kind of stuff at lot more directly.
DallasCowboysFan · 61-69, M
@canusernamebemyusername I'll do that, thanks.

@DallasCowboysFan That's the absolute worst suggestion anyone could make. When one wants to know the truth, they search where the truth is found, in God's Word. God is incapable of lying or error. Nothing in God's Word contradicts itself. It may appear to, to those who are not familiar with His Word, however, upon careful study and taking the scripture in view with the whole context, history at the time and period, and who was being addressed at the time, one finds it is not contradictory at all. One can never go wrong by finding the answers in life, from the bible. What exactly are you wanting to find out? The term "in My house there are many mansions" for example, has nothing to do with something God tells us in His Word, to stay away from...witchcraft, astral projection, astral plane, different dimensional levels or the 7 chakras. It means that in heaven, God has set up mansions for His children (all who are saved) to live in. That there are beautiful things we have never even seen, nor could even imagine, awaiting those who know Him as Savior.

There is also the whole metaphysical take on it.
DallasCowboysFan · 61-69, M
@Tastyfrzz Yes, but now that I am looking for it, I can't find it......but I wonder how valid the arguments are. What we read in the Bible is basically what was recorded from the personal bias of the monks that wrote them.

@DallasCowboysFan unity had a lot of interpretations on it. See the writings of Charles and myrtle fillmore
