When I found I couldn't define the difference between religion and superstition or god and santa claus, I gave up. Its all silly twaddle in any case.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
As are you posts@redredred
redredred · M
@Speedyman So, you cant define the difference between religion and superstition or god or santa either.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@redredred I can. What you seem to believe is superstition. What I believe is science. Actual evidence is all on the side of there being a Creator. Only silly people think that things exist for no reason.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Just the point I can. You can’t! 😎@redredred
redredred · M
@hippyjoe1955 Thats not a definition thats a random set of assertions you wish were true.
redredred · M
@Speedyman Whats your definition? How is religion different from superstition? Whats the difference between god and santa?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@redredred No. It is true. Atheists are into superstition without any basis in fact. They can't even find any evidence in support of their theories.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Every difference. God happens to be the eternal, omnipotent creator. Santa Claus is someone touted by atheists @redredred
redredred · M
@Speedyman Yeah, again, youve no more proof of that than I do of santa.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
The proof is all around you. Open your eyes. It’s in every cell in your body!@redredred
redredred · M
@Speedyman No it isnt, but since you cant distinguish your god from santa, (after two or three opportunities) lets leave it at this. Your god is just as real as santa is. Your faith is just as valid as superstition is.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
You are completely wrong wrong wrong. I have just told you how I distinguish my God from Santa. Because you haven’t got the intelligence to understand me does not mean to say I’m wrong@redredred
redredred · M
@Speedyman Still no definition I see. You get zero for content but A for consistency.

Here's a tip; bland, unsupported assertions do not constitute a definition.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Here’s a tip your own bland assertions do not consist of a definition either. Nor your brainless assertions and lack of reasoning. Typical atheist. No reason whatever@redredred

@hippyjoe1955
can't even find any evidence in support of their theories
Would you like some?
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@hippyjoe1955 Given your self-claimed competence in matters scientific, this should be an interesting discussion
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2 They call you Cleopatra 'cause you're the queen of denial. BTW I haven't read anything of what you posted today. I will do the same tomorrow if you post.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@hippyjoe1955 While you’re casting about trying to find your balls (hint: they’re those tiny things hanging on some woman’s wall), perhaps it will save you a lot of trouble to learn that atheists don’t have Theories

Scientists have Theories

In fact, 'atheism' is a term that should not even exist. No one ever needs to identify himself as a 'non-astrologer' or a 'non-alchemist'. We do not have words for people who doubt that Elvis is still alive or that aliens have traversed the galaxy only to molest ranchers and their cattle. Atheism is nothing more than the noises reasonable people make in the presence of unjustified religious beliefs.
Sam Harris
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Quoting Sam Harris. We are scraping the barrel now aren’t we? 😊@newjaninev2
redredred · M
@Speedyman Lets try a different tack. Whats the fifference between every religion OTHER than yours and superstition?
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Speedyman Yet I note that you don’t actually address what Harris said
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@redredred Including your religion aka atheism.
redredred · M
@hippyjoe1955 Atheism is a non-belief, it requires no faith, claims no miracles, has no devils or saints and doesnt require anything of anyone. It simply states that the case for a god hypothesis is completely lacking in logical support.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@redredred I used to be an atheist. I didn't have enough faith to remain one. Atheism is a religion.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@hippyjoe1955 Atheism is not a religion. A religion is a set of beliefs and morals bound together by a common philosophy. There's no "philosophy of atheism". That doesn't exist.
