Does anyone else pray to God when they are upset, even if they don't believe in God? [Spirituality & Religion]

I don't believe in Christianity's version of God, but whenever I am truly upset, then I find myself using God as some sort of comfort. Example: Someone does something insanely cruel to me and I think to myself: God will deal with them.
I'm not sure how to put it, but I do think there is some sort of power above us and there are moral lines that one should not cross, but I don't want to put any names to it or tie myself down to one religion.
What does that make me? Anyone else feel the same?

Wasn't Thomas Jefferson a Theist?

I don't know if he was one?
I don't even know if I am one. I don't necessarily believe that there is one God or that he/she/it controls anyone.
I believe in power though and it is easier just to call that power God for sake of ease.
I have a moral code though and I think this power does too. The power could even be karma.

are u saying an atheist or a theologist

@NineLives: i have heard people say that Thomas Jefferson was in fact one. i know he wrote these words: we hold these truths to be self evident. that all men are created equal. that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

so honestly im not sure that he was one unless he was not refering to god as men's creator

@NineLives: Theist, believes in a creator but not in the Trinity or a revelation.
The other position might be a Deist.
To be honest, I don't believe in either.

@sassygirl15: If you are into American History, check it out. It is Theist not atheist. Benjamin Franklin believed in a non-Diestic God.

Thank you. A lot of people don't realize all 16 year old girls are not interested in just boys and makeup lol. I don't wear makeup and I have my man

@Pfuzylogic: Which annoys me when people usually those that are against them tell me I'm to young for political views. Really I'm just 2 years away from voting age. You shouldn't wake up at 18 and start learning about politics
