When you read the bible, what about it makes you feel that it is divinely inspired? [Spirituality & Religion]

Because i don't get that sense at all when i read it. Just the opposite in fact.

Here are my thoughts. The Bible means a lot to some people, so I would never think to ridicule that. I also don’t believe in shoving my beliefs down anyone’s throat either since I think it turns people off.

I was raised a Christian, but I always found the Bible rather scary. How could I not? But I won’t dismiss it or be disrespectful. I don’t really practice a faith right now because I question too many things. I will leave it to God to direct me on where I should go and leave it at that.

I certainly am sad to see so many people of any faith or no faith being unkind to others with that.
@Peapod

Good sentiment.

@Peapod 🌷Absolutely!

@Peapod there’s no reason why we should ring-fence religion away from criticism, skepticism, and basic evidential requirements.

We confront all other absurdities - why give that one a free ride?
Peapod · 61-69, F
@newjaninev2, religion is very personal and I do think debates are better between people of the same faith.

I certainly think it’s OK to call each other out if one is mixing it all up in other debates like politics.

@Peapod I find the way followers of a certain major religion ridicule minor religions very offensive.
Peapod · 61-69, F
@Sharon, I hate how anyone ridicules a person’s faith or lack of.

I would be vocal if someone’s beliefs harmed another though.

@Sharon
God is sending all diseases and Corona virus as judgement against a Godless and sinful world!
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Carazaa tell that to the families of the dead.

Tell them that this is a wonderful opportunity to proselytise

Tell them that it’s their own fault

But I strongly suggest that you don’t do it anywhere near me
@Carazaa This

is pathetic. You actually believe that.
@newjaninev2 Exactly.

@wilderflower
I’m quoting God that all diseases are from his wrath against sin!
@Carazaa Such a loving god. 🙄
Carazaa · F
Absolutely! Would you be tortured for people who hate you? That’s what he did for you and the world keeps sinning! And even reject him which is the worst thing and so wicked!@wilderflower
Peapod · 61-69, F
@wilderflower, it does hurt my heart to see that sort of preaching. I never believed anyone will be brought to God that way, even if it is their belief.
@Peapod It’s pathetic to actually think like that right?
@Carazaa Leave me the fuck alone you psychotic bitch.
Carazaa · F
Try to toughen up! It’s better to be “little hurt in your heart” than die of a disease!
@Peapod
Carazaa · F
@wilderflower ha ha you need something to calm yourself! I’m just quoting Gods word I think you are demon possessed and I’ll pray for you! Some people who hate Gods word are demon possessed!
@Carazaa You’re fucked up so fuck off.
Carazaa · F
@wilderflower
Ha ha got you mad huh!
@Carazaa You’re happy about people dying of the virus.
Peapod · 61-69, F

@Carazaa, someone walking with God will never rejoice in that, no matter what. 😞
Peapod · 61-69, F
@wilderflower, I know many kind Christians that would never say such a thing. 😞
@Peapod It’s kinda confirming my suspicions that she’s a troll.
Sharon · F
@wilderflower There are a few christians here that I suspect might be trolls.
