When you read the bible, what about it makes you feel that it is divinely inspired? [Spirituality & Religion]

Because i don't get that sense at all when i read it. Just the opposite in fact.

I do believe in God but do think that the Bible is a collection of stories about Jesus and God but not necessarily divinely inspired
@Ian123

So if you don't think that the bible is divinely inspired, what reason do you have to think it has real stories about god in it?

Or do you just mean it's a collection of stories about jesus and god in the same way that a sherlock holmes is a collection of stories about sherlock and watson?

@Pikachu We don’t know what really inspired people to write these stories, some are hundreds of years before Jesus. The idea for the stories must have come from somewhere. God has always existed whereas Sherlock Holmes is a product of Conan Doyles’s imagination.

Why couldn't they have come from the imagination of man?

@Pikachu I knew you were going to say something like that 😀 ok some bits may be debatable but you could say that about any book ever written. The main theme of the stories is still about the coming of the Messiah

Of course. Because as you say, you can say that about any book ever written.
So since all stories we know about come from human minds, what leads you to believe that the story of the coming of the messiah is no also the product of a human mind?

@Pikachu But it isn’t is it, Jesus actually did come to fulfill the prophecies
@Ian123

That's what the story says.
And that brings us back to the question at hand: What about these stories makes you believe they are divinely inspired?
Ian123 · 61-69, M
@Pikachu I don’t actually know, I just believe. Its up to you if you don’t believe in the coming of Jesus that’s perfectly ok.
@Ian123

lol well that's what i'm asking. Is there something about the bible that seems to indicated divinity or is it just a belief?

@Pikachu Get yourself a time machine, you can borrow Dr Who’s, go back to the days of the early prophets and ask them. Don’t get lost and when you get back you can tell me what they said 😀
@Ian123

If you can tell me where to find a TARDIS then don't hold back😉
