Do you think if your first exposure to god was reading the old testament that you would love and praise god? [Spirituality & Religion]

Christians are always telling me i need to respect god and devote myself to him...
But if you're going to say god is real and the bible describes his nature to us, how do you get around all the heinous, despicable shit he's apparently done and ordered done?

How do you love and respect someone like that if you're not already starting from a place of faith and excusing such behaviour?

That's not the way it is, kid. Belief will always follow truth. What we believe is actual truth that Yahweh lives and His Word is Truth. Yahweh has already proven Himself to mankind and that the work of His hands gives the evidence that He is God and there is no other. Therefore, we are without excuse to believe otherwise.

If you are asked to present evidence, then either do so, or admit you can’t, rather than trying to redirect and deflect every time. That’s the only way to convert anyone, which most faithful people always seem to want to do.

How can I present anymore evidence than what Yahweh has presented? How can I prove that God lives anymore than what He's already proven?
