@JBird Here is one part of the Christian tradition that isn't about this.
There is an image of consolation in the face of an sinful and evil world through renuciation of the self. How can renuciation of the self be about being a dick?
I'm not here to declare everything in the name of religion and faith is good. In fact, i don't believe in organized religion as my source of faith. I find faith from philosophical reflection on the nature of the human condition.
All the philosophical arguments and reflections on God have nothing to do with hatred. They are concerned with truth.
Buddhism doesn't teach people to hate others.
Confucianism doesn't either.

@JBird God could never be proved to exist empirically because he is by definition not a contingent being.
There are various rational arguments for his existence.
One being the argument from contingency.
The universe is infinite.
Everything in the universe is contingent.
Something contingent needs a cause to exist.
If the universe is infinite, there will necessarily be a time when all contingent things didn't exist because there was nothing to cause them to exist.
Since the universe if infinite, we know this time has already passed.
If there was a time when nothing contingent existed, nothing contingent could cause something to exist.
Yet, we know contingent things exist because we are here.
The only thing that can bring something from nothing is God.
Therefore, God exists.
