Have you ever considered this? [Spirituality & Religion]

To those who repeatedly try to convince me that the Sabbath of the fourth commandment no longer applies to those of us who reside in New Testament times, have you ever considered this? The Sabbath was established at the end of Creation week, before the entrance of sin, was made for all mankind, not just the Jews, and is repeatedly called in the Bible the Sabbath of the Lord thy God, not the Sabbath of the Jews. Also, Adam and Eve, our first parents, spent their entire first full day resting and communing with God on His Holy Sabbath Day.

We have entered God’s rest as Christians.

@Speedyman God blessed and sanctified a day, not a state of mind.

So Hebrews is wrong? @BiblicalWarrior
BiblicalWarrior · 51-55, M
@Speedyman Not at all. What I am saying is that the word found there in the original language means a keeping of the Sabbath, which is a specific day that was blessed and sanctified by God before the entrance of sin, and which God claims as His repeatedly.

So you have every Saturday where you do nothing?@BiblicalWarrior

@Speedyman The purpose of the Sabbath is to rest and commune with God. Remember, our Lord Himself said: "The Sabbath was made for man..." Also, we are going to be observing the Sabbath on the earth made new throughout all eternity. Plus, God repeatedly calls it His Sabbath, not the Jewish Sabbath.

For the Christian every day is the sabbath because we have entered his rest@BiblicalWarrior

@Speedyman God chose a specific day, rested on it, blessed it, and set it aside for holy use. He did not do that for any other day, and He calls it His Holy Sabbath Day. People who claim they observe Sabbath every day are not only NOT obeying God and Yeshua, they are also not holy, just lazy. I find it interesting that the one commandment that starts with the word Remember is the one commandment everyone wants to forget. "If you keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, you are guilty of all." Satan doesn't really care which Commandment you disobey, because he knows that breaking any of them makes you guilty of breaking them all.

@BiblicalWarrior 16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. (Colossians 2:16-17)
ShouldI take your word or St Paul’s?

@Speedyman This site can provide the answer better than I can. May I just give you the following advice before I leave off from this discussion? Never use a passage out of its Scriptural and historical context to support an unscriptural teaching.

I didn’t take that out of context I took it in the context of Colossians And the rest of the teaching of the new Testament which tells us that we are not in the law but under grace@BiblicalWarrior
BiblicalWarrior · 51-55, M
@Speedyman "Do we then make void the law through faith? God Forbid! yea, we establish the law."Romans 3:31
@Speedyman Another important point is that after the judgement and the remaking of Heaven and Earth,The Sabbath is STILL kept ( not reinstituted).

The sabbath will be eternal and non-ending@Anonymartyr
