@Carazaa There is no conflict between religion and evolution. The theory of evolution is not even mentioned in the Bible. The only reason it's such a big deal today is because of the rivalry between liberals and conservatives, not "God's word."

It's possible to believe that God created evolution.

It didn't. This notion is directly contradicted by the fossil record and geology.
If i were you, i'd go with the idea that biblical "days" are not actually 24 hour days as we understand them today.

And that could be true. I don't know the time of things. If I had to bet on if the Bible is wrong or if the scientists are wrong you know what I would bet on! I doubt science, I don't doubt the Bible. I live by it and I make all my decisions from what God says to do and then things go well for me! So I trust it with my life! I come from a science family as well as a family of pastors and Christians for many many generations so I know how flawed science is! Because of Godly men turned to God he has revealed truth about the world to those people. When God is out of science I think it goes off the rail.

I am so sorry that the science of your post went off the rail I know you wanted it to be about your overwhelming evidence not about the Bible . And we got sidetracked.

How can I know what you say is true? I'd have to spend hours to study it and then how do I know those scientists did not distort their "evidence"?

So your choices become:

a) Scientists all over the world in different fields of study are ALL incompetent and wrong,
b) there exists a massive, international conspiracy at every level of scientific and scholastic study to distort the data or
c) the bible (inspired by god or not) was written by men and with the "scientific" understanding they had several thousand years ago.

Occam's razor seems relevant here.

It would indeed take you time and effort to familiarize yourself with the science behind this.
If you're interested in knowing what is true, maybe you'll do that. If i can devote my time and effort to reading the bible, surely you can devote your time to learning the science...

I want to be as confidential as I can here but as you know I have s Mastets degree in a science field. So I think I have absolutely dedicated may many years and much money to learn science and theories! I am very interested in the brain and the differences between female and male behavior as well as the causes of depression and anxiety. The Bible has so much to say about the cure for depression that the psychologists have just recently found out is true. God told us 5000 years ago. CBT is the most effective treatment. Well God told us to focus on the positive which is the same, and to trust in him! And people are wondering what is happening in the world right now! God told us in the Bible what would happen in the last days. People wonder whats with the wildfires, the plagues, the hatred, the falling away from faith, the new age religions, the global warming, the greater and greater earthquakes, the increase in knowledge and communication explosion but increase suicide rate in teens, etc. God tells us why these things are happening. These are signs! The Bible is reliable! Science gives me no hope and is not answering my prayers so I rely on God who does!

Not to put too fine a point on it: you have an education in an unrelated field.
Your education has not equipped you to speak authoritatively on evolution any more than a scientist educated in botany can speak authoritatively on astrophysics.

If you believe all scientists around the world are incompetent then study the information relating to evolution and find the flaws.
Don't just state that you trust the bible over science while remaining ignorant to one whole half of the argument. That's doing yourself a disservice.

So i ask you, before you comment on evolution again, familiarize yourself with the theory and the evidence.

Sorry i caused you offense.
I didn't mean to and i didn't mean to imply that you can't comment on my posts. What i meant was that before you deny the evidence for evolution again, i want you to actually, genuinely study that evidence in good faith. Become informed about that which you are denying before you deny it has validity.


Correct me if i'm wrong, but what you suggested is that given your stance that the bible is right and science is wrong, either all the scientists studying evolution are incompetent in their field of study or they are deliberately falsifying data.
