That would be attempting to prove a negative. Even if I could show that evolution did not occur in specific cases that would prove it hadn't occurred in others. The best anyone could do would be to find an alternative, plausible explanation for the evidence that appears to support evolution.

Agreed. And so far that doesn't seem to be happening. We see a series of "just so" stories which falter against the consistent, monolithic explanation of shared ancestry.
