Not this trash again. So you think just because they don't believe in God, they don't feed the poor. First of all, that's stupid and ignorant because I know atheists who are selfless and help the needy and Christians who are heartless and don't care about anybody. Secondly, it doesn't need to be Christmas to help the poor. I am an atheist and I am sponsoring a child with cerebral palsy to pay for his medicines every month.
I already do it and I don't think it has much to do with believing or not. Unless people help others because they think that it'll come back to them some day. In which case, it's more like an investment than doing it to improve someone else's life
OK, what makes you think an atheist would not do kind things for people? Do you think that because someone doesn't believe in a god that they are mean-spirited or mean?
I used to work at a homeless shelter for families with children. Not all homeless people are street people, but I do remember we had one really great guy named Bob who used to drive out to where he knew the single men were living on the streets, and he would hand out drinks and sandwiches. He was really living what he believed, not just giving it lip service.
You know, when I was living in another city and lived with a psycho so I ended up having to leave, I ended up at a Christan homeless shelter. I have a good family and I could have gone home but decided it was worth a try to find a job so I could go to school
Turns out it's a cult. The people who were at that shelter have been there for seven years. You have to go to three prayer meetings a day, if you miss even one, you are kicked out.
I asked "well if I can't find time to take the bus and go to job interviews, do you help find me a job?"
I actually got scoffed at, like quite literally.
Later I looked up the reviews and they do operate as a cult. One reviewer said that a couple of sermons were quite mean and the reviewer was Christian lol.
So why don't you tell your fellow religious people those things?
I'd give anything for secularism to take over where religion has no business in anything.
The fact that I don't believe in any gods has no bearing on whether I am a caring or generous person.
I don't need some ancient idea of religion for me to be able to appreciate and be thankful for what I have and to share that whenever I can.
I wish you a Merry Christmas and I hope you find it in your heart to spend more time being generous to others and less time directing others to be generous.
@NorthernBear Oh yeah I know, I responded anyways because it's usually secular people who are nicer to homeless. Religious nuts turn away LGBT people or have stupid rules like participation in prayer when you're more worried about living.
what makes you think people who dont believe in your god, are not kind and helpful to others, thats not very Christian of you at all ,i think you should pray for yourself ask god for forgiveness , 🤔😕
I should know better that to respond to a troll with something that borders on intelligent.
Oh well.
My heart was in the right place.

I think like many of the other comments I don't know why you feel like you have to single out atheists as though they'd never think by themselves to do good.
Twice in my life I was active in the church. Twice I stopped when I first hand witnessed the amazing hypocrisy within those organisations.
I do my bit to help some and I do it throughout the year not to tick some box once a year ensuring my eternal life. I don't believe in that I do it because I'm a humanist.
Same with all of us. That is why we need a saviour. We are all broken and imperfect human beings. @SW-User

@Speedyman I don't believe in an after life. I don't believe any religion has exclusivity on finding enlightenment within this life. It would be too arrogant of me to say there is no God but I certainly don't believe God is as depicted within Christianity.
So with respect save your evangelism for someone who might need it.
@AgapeLove Yeah but many oeople know genocide is wrong. It's religious bullcrap to judge someone for doing what they wish with their own bodies. Obviously cutting wrists etc is a bad choice to make. You are confusing self harm with fair/informed choice.
Because someone is an atheist or not religious does not mean to say they do not have humanitarian feelings. An atheist is still made in the image of God whether he likes it or not! In Jesus’ parable of the good Samaritan it was not the religious person who helped the man who fell among thieves but the outsider - a Samaritan. Please remember that doing good is not confined to Christian people. There are many people who do not believe yet who do good to their fellow man. I have been the privileged recipient of their kindness on occasion !
God commits judgements not genocides. He is allowed to judge because he is God and he will judge at the end of time. Do you honestly think that God takes any notice of pew research? 🤣🤣🤣@Emosaur
You’d be surprised how many people who don’t believe, who help their fellows beings, because they know, it’s up to us. On the other hand, I’ve actually met “believers” who don’t lift a finger. They figure “God will take care of things”. 😒
