Will you pray with me [Spirituality & Religion]

Great God, thank you for loving us. Please help the oppressed and help us forgive our oppressors. Thank you Father for the Cross and our Savior. Send us you Spirit to guide our paths. Help us tame our tongues and take greed out of our hearts. Be with Surgeons and Doctors as they work to heal us. Help us to show our love for you thru our good deeds. In your Sons name we pray Amen. What happened to prayer being between you and god?

I remember a story in the bible, about how god would rather listen to the man who prays at home in solitude, then to a man who needs to pray in public.

@SimplyTracie it's considered God's house, so yes and no. But even there, people dont shout their personal prayer out. They kneel, take a few minutes in silence and then continue.

Sure, the prayer is universal in there. Everyone follows the same prayer as the priest. It's about the community.

But the prayer, is private.

Then again, I'm an elapsed catholic.

@SW-User I’m almost positive that God doesn’t mind if we pray with others. We say a prayer before we eat and someone says it out loud.
