I really enjoy reading the bible but i just can't get over the cruelty of it. [Spirituality & Religion]
Every time i read something like "And then they burned him and his family alive" or "and they killed every man, woman and child" it just bums me out. How can this be the will of a loving god? That's a hard pill to swallow.
Thoughts?

Ok, now tell me how it can be considered morally acceptable to kill her because he parents followed another god or did bad things. Now tell me it's right for soldiers to kill her mother and then cut that baby down too. I don't know if you'll come out and say you think that's a morally right action. If you do, then I do honestly wonder at the kind of faith that let's one make a claim like that.

We've already been over what i think the difference is. My moral logic remains internally consistent even if you disagree with my position.

@Pikachu This is a spiritual question. Because of mans sin we are separated from God. We can't reach him. God cares for All people. He lets it rain and sends sunshine on all. But God has made it clear that he hears our prayers anc answers those who love Him and then he will bless those families for 1000 generation. We do not know what God knows so we should never judge Him. He is Holy, and died to set us free from sin. He chooses us . Is that your little girl or did you get permission to put her on public display among perverted perps? Do you care about her?

And as a person of faith you can't question your god. I don't have that same restriction and in fact i cannot do any different. I can't turn off my moral compass any more than you can.

I'm reading the bible and i'm discussing that i find there. That includes the parts i have issues with. Is that such a hard concept for you to grasp?

It's so sad that you only value humanity because you think a god does. I value people despite the fact that we're all just animals. Just because you're morally handicapped doesn't mean we all are.

I am indeed talking about the catholic church. But the catholics are chrisitans even if you don't think they're doing christianity right. They follow the teachings and religion of jesus christ. That's christian.

No it's not like that, carazaa. They don't say not to love they neighbour. They don't say not to love god with all your strength. They don't say that there are other gods than god. They believe in the teachings and religion of jesus christ just as you do. There are minor distinctions and that's it. And that's enough for you to call other people who love christ [i]satantic[/i]. @Pikachu Jesus said that Satan will stand in the Holy place in the end times and many many churches are deviating from the Bible! It is hard to find faithfully churches now! People have tickling ears! God gives us what we want and the Catholic Church is deviating from the Bible !It is very sad! Only true teachings will be blessed with true converts! So here we have hateful "Christians" and crazy doctrines where people don't know truth from a lie! I think the ONLY way to know truth is to read our Bibles! Because God will not tell us a lie when we are sinful and prideful and no tickling ears will serve God! If you finish the entire Bible you will see that we better realize we aren't so great as a people but God loves us enough to die for us to set us free from our bondage to sin. There is no savior to do that other than God himself for those who want to be free!
@Carazaa The Majority of Roman Catholics will differentiate if asked if they are Christian. I have Catholic friends and they have no problem correcting someone that says that they are Christian. They make the point clear "We are Catholic, not Christian".
@Pikachu other religions have a "Jesus" so to say they speak about but its not the Jesus of the bible. Some within the Christian demominations make their own Jesus instead of the Jesus of the bible, a good example of this is the Jehovah's Witnesses. The bible speaks of false Christ's and we are warned to stand in the faith. Loving Jesus doesnt make anyone satanic, but which Jesus do you love? Thats what makes the difference.
