Why do you think god demands blood sacrifices and burnt offerings? [Spirituality & Religion]

Why does he want the blood splattered on the altar and the fat from around the organs and the large lobe of the liver and kidneys burnt?

God doesn't demand any such thing. That's all religion and biblical stuff you're talking about.

@PhoenixPhail God did demand a blood sacrifice in the old testament, in order for sins to be forgiven, and now that he has sent his ultimate sacrifice, that of his only son, he now gives us the choice to believe him him, to accept him as the Lord of our life, and live accordingly , or we can reject him, and everything that he stands for, but if we do we will be left in our sins forever, and no sin is going to enter Heaven.
@Silverwings All of that is biblical, religious doctrine, and has nothing to do with God, only religion.

@PhoenixPhail 2 Timothy 2:16 …15From infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
@Silverwings I follow God, not the bible.

@PhoenixPhail To reject Gods word is to reject him. The Beginning
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning.…
@Silverwings I never reject God, only religion.

I have often said that the devil knows more truth than most theologians and the reason he is not saved is that he hates it. James says the devils believe and tremble. They believe many facts about God are true, but they are not saved, because they hate those facts.

@Silverwings There is no such thing as the devil. That's religious superstition.

@PhoenixPhail But you are not rejecting religion but Gods word. I think the problem lies in the scripture that says, the letter killeth but the spirit giveth life. And He has qualified us as ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

You have read the bible and seen only the letter, but failed to see the life that is also there, therefore you reject it. Not rightly dividing it.

@Silverwings I have read the bible. I have no problem letting you go your way. I'm going to go mine.

@PhoenixPhail How can you possibly say that you follow God and reject his word?
@Silverwings I have no argument with you. I'm able to leave it at that - to agree to disagree. I'm solid in my belief. I'm glad you are in yours.

@PhoenixPhail You did not answer my question?
@Silverwings Nor will I.
Silverwings · 61-69, F
@PhoenixPhail religion is man made Gods word is God breathed.
Silverwings · 61-69, F
@PhoenixPhail Jesus talked about hell, the church did not invent it.
Silverwings · 61-69, F
@PhoenixPhail He is in essence saying that there was no reason for Jesus to give his life, for our sins, https://reasonsforhopejesus.com/jesus-say-hell/

@PhoenixPhail Guilt producing control business eh? So in essence he is saying that Jesus was wrong when he said we must be born again, that if we are not, we will never see heaven, that he only wanted to control mankind, instead of to redeem us? If that was the case he could have made robots.
Silverwings · 61-69, F
@PhoenixPhail Jesus most definitely did make the distinction between heaven and hell.

What the Bible really says about heaven and hell. Heaven and hell both exist and we know this because Scripture tells us so. The Bible speaks on the reality of hell in the same terms as the reality of heaven. Revelation 20:14 says, “Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.

@Silverwings Whatever you believe is fine with me. As a Christian, surely you could find it in your heart to afford me the same consideration. The matter is closed.
