I’m on the fence. I believe in a higher being (God) but I think religion is used to control people and the same people calling themselves religious are usually really hypocritical and also sometimes violent. I think the bible and religion has done more harm throughout history than good. I relate more with spirituality.

@Freudianslip13 Thank you for answering! Sounds like you might not believe even if it were true!
@Carazaa I believe in God I just don’t like how religion has divided people. If it’s used for good it can be really good and if it’s used for bad it can be really bad. It’s all how you see a verse. I don’t think you need to follow a religion to be considered a good hearted person. So I don’t think I would follow it word for word even if it was proven true.

@Freudianslip13 Just an FYI Freud - We are not judged on how 'good hearted' we are.

For your own sake, don't dump religion based on what some people may have done.

Religion is about your relationship with God.

@Budwick 🌷💖 It sure is!
Correct, but a lot of people want to argue atheists are not good people simply because they don’t follow religion. And I never knew what a relationship with God was until I became more spiritual because the religion aspect does not make me feel close to God. It’s not a personal relationship, it’s a set of rules. To each their own. @Budwick

@Freudianslip13 Adain, I say -
'For your own sake, don't dump religion based on what some people may have done.

Religion is about your relationship with God.'

And, you are again inserting other people into your opinion.

A relationship with God can't get more personal.
If you've distilled it down to a set of rules -
I think you've missed the point.
