@Emosaur Wasn't that part of the point in the old testament too? He was only concerned with Abrahams' offspring, who were choicen above all others. All the rest of the world was just not important to the story. 🤷‍♂️

Even when He promised the offspring of Abraham land, and He gave the land that others were inhabbiting. He could have given anny piece of land and made it flourish with His omnipotence. But He choice to give land that other people where living on. So He send an angel to make the people who lived theres' life miserable. But kept enough alive so the land wouldn't become bare so that the tribes of Israel could inherit it when it was still okay. He also commanded the tribes to kill everyone there and to destroy the structures that were on the land. Because the people and the structures would mock the Israelites and let them doubt the fate they have for Him. That's pretty much the defenition of "Genocide" right there. Where an entire poppulus gets cleansed from a piece of land, but also their entire herritage gets destroyed so no one will ever know they were even there in the first place. That was the commandmend of the Lord in the story.

Now... it does make a great story, but I also think it says a lot about the God figure. 🤔 And what is really important to the character in that story.

(Exodus 23:20-33 , my most fascinating piece of the old testament)

@Emosaur Man is to blame for all that misery, it was not Gods will for anyone to suffer.

@Kwek00 He had to start somewhere and he chose Abraham , to be the Father of many who will believe. His decendants are as the stars in the sky in number, he is the spiritual father of us all; Holman Christian Standard Bible This is why the promise is by faith, so that it may be according to grace, to guarantee it to all the descendants--not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of Abraham's faith. He is the father of us all, and his descedants are all the Christians that have come after him. His name in Hebrew means "father of a multitude.". Originally called Abram, or "exalted father," the Lord changed his name to Abraham as a symbol of the covenant promise to multiply his descendants into a great nation that God would call his own.

@Silverwings Abraham is also the father of Muslims.

@Silverwings
You should ask yourself why an omnipotent being had to start somewhere. Where this limitation that the omnipotent being had to start somewhere. Why he could not start in diffrent places with the same ruleset.

You should also ask yourself why this omnipotent being had to choose one person and bless his offspring above all other. And that he promised exactly this person and his offspring the world, while everyone of us descents from the people on the arc after the cleansing. (another great moment of love right there)

@LeopoldBloom Because muslims took the Jewish faith (how ironic is that in todays world) as the basis for their own believes. Just like the christians. And the thing the Muslims and the Jews have in common, is that according to their scripture they are both loved above all others. (which is a great marketing tool that is also adopted by other believes)

But again... great literature. If people wouldn't go so crazy about it, then people should read it more. Because again, super great storyline for a book that is that old. Just don't take fiction for reality.

@EmosaurGod helps everyone regardless if you pray to Him or not. However he answers the prayers of his children. Hence if you look at the Christian countries they generally have less disasters and less deaths in disasters than non Christian countries. I am not including Roman Catholosism as Christian.

@Emosaur There are countries that have Christian governments, or have recently had Christian governments. Those are the happiest countries in the world with no or less disasters.

@Emosaur No don't believe everything you here. I have said over and over that Sweden has had Christianity since the Vikings 1000 years ago until 1997 when they decided to not be "Christian" The Government still pays for all the citisens Christian funerals, and the church pastors salaries in every little town. And the Government has had Biblical rules for everything and the officials are not paid much. Christmas is paid holiday for everyone in the country for 3 weeks off for everyone. And Easter is paid week for everyone, and also 5 week paid summer vacation for everyone. The government pays for your college, all your medical expenses, and your retirnment, and nursing home, and mortgages has no interest, and all parents get food money and clothing allowance for your kids from the government regardless if you are a millionaire. But because they are so rich and happy, they forget God so they will start having huge problems if they don't turn back to him.

@Emosaur you did not understand my point nor understand the history of Scandinavia. Sweden took 400 years from 800-1200 AD to completely become a Christian country from pagan Vikings who plundered and sacrificed and murdered kids to their Gods ( still have bloody rocks from then, go and visit) .

But it was christianized and loving Government no more crimes and killings. From 1200-1997 Christian Sweden has had very few problems. No one did anything except reading the Bible and went to church until a hundred years ago on Sundays. You could drop a wallet and it would be on the street after a week.

I am Swedish I grew up there my mom still lives there I have had a winter house and vacation house there, my best friend and all my relatives live in Sweden. The people of Sweden are very loving people! Biblical values! Very mild and gentle people, very educated, and the healthiest in the world. Scandinavian countries are happy, and the most loving and compassionate towards people who have it hard. Sweden took in more Refugees than any other country in the world per capital! All citizens were raised on Bible reading first thing in all schools until just recently, so they still have loving christian upbringing and all churches are still paid for by the government.

Swedish government pays for even Swedish churches in San Francisco, Los Angeles and all over the world for those who want Bible reading and pastoral advise and Swedish preaching wherever they are in the world while traveling! The pastors and the churches are paid by the Swedish government still!

@Emosaur I stopped reading after your first sentence and will not debate any further with you because you twist history, you confuse evil people with Gods love, and you debate with a lot of people who have more knowledge than you. It's kind of like me with a masters in a science degree debating with someone who doesn't have a science degree, or debating with someone about my country with someone who gets their knowledge from the web. Sorry I will debate science when you have a science degree, Scandinavia when you have lived there, and Jesus when you've read the Bible! I wish you the very best! And I'll pray for you!

@EmosaurWell thank you for speaking the truth, but we have to humble ourselves and repent. And that is so hard most don't. Especially if you had a untrustworthy Dad how can you trust that God is loving? I promise he is so loving and listens to his children and blesses them.

@Emosaur If we want to self destruct he will not stop us, especially if we hate him!
