Can we stop saying that atheists are afraid to believe in god?
Sure, no problem.
Although, I think that it may be the case for some.
I think these days though, atheists think they are pretty smart, certainly way too smart to believe in supernatural beings with supernatural powers they they themselves don't possess.
I can't guess where each one lost their way. I mean God said that His existence is self evident. And while that is crystal clear to me - obviously it's not to others. I don't know why.
Belief in God is indeed comforting as I grow older.
I've believed in God since I was a kid. Death wasn't a concern of mine at the time. I believed because He really is self evident to me. I genuinely can feel His presence. HE does answer prayer. and yes, He will judge each and every one of us some day.
that’s the sheep’s position

your faith says that. i thought that as well. i didn’t lose my way. i saw the charade for what it was.
if you are ignoring the plight of people here on earth now, for some future pay out...
you are morally bankrupt... as is your
fairytale creator.

@Budwick Yes I agree and God says that he harden hearts to the truth of some people and gives them a lie because they have tickling ears. I for one really want the truth. Give it to me straight, no watered down version. It gives me confidence and so much strength knowing God helps me when I am weak. I know we disagree on some politics, its ok, but you are great Budwick. Thank you for witnessing your faith!
@Budwick
It could be the case for some. I certainly can't speak for every atheist lol
I don't know if atheists think they're smart. I do know that in general perhaps we have a higher bar for what constitutes evidence.
Some people are happy to say "Look how beautiful the stars are and conditions are so perfect for life on this planet, this is self-evidently the work of the god of the bible".
Proper skepticism requires more.
And a muslim would say the same thing but you wouldn't accept this as evidence for her god. You get me?
I can imagine that believing in god would be so comforting. I honestly would like that. But i can't choose to believe something just because i would like it to be true.
Thanks for sharing.

@Budwick if god answers prayers then why don’t you just pray for all atheists to become Christians? Also why not pray for amputees to regrow their limbs?
Carazaa · F
@Bandit2398 I think we do that!

@Carazaa So why has there never been a single, verified instance of an amputated limb growing back?
