Can we stop saying that atheists are afraid to believe in god? [Spirituality & Religion]

Who the heck wouldn't want to believe that death is not the end and that we'll be reunited with our loved ones?

It seems to me that in fact fear is one of the strongest motivators TO believe in a god which soothes the terrors of death, oblivion and separation.

I can imagine some would be. Imagine you lived your entire life claiming God didn't exist and ridiculing the idea. They'd regret ever saying ANYTHING wrong and it would already be too late, if that was the case ._.

It's not the right idea to believe in God out of fear of what death is. God is not meant to be an explanation of the unknown. If a Creator exists, they are the source of all knowledge, life, and beyond

If a Creator does NOT exist, then it is void of meaning to create one
JBird · F
@SW-User then according to you, there would be currently billions of known creators in the universe. 😂
@SW-User

They'd regret ever saying ANYTHING wrong

Sure. But that would come after the fact so i can't see it being a big motivator.

It's not the right idea to believe in God out of fear of what death is

Doesn't have to be right to be true

@SW-User I like your thinking!!
SW-User
@JBird what kinda logic is that? 😂😂😂
SW-User
@Pikachu sadly, that can be true for many
SW-User
@Silverwings thank you
JBird · F
@SW-User you can't get the logic if you are thinking about Christianity only. Remember, there are other religions other than Christianity who believe in more than one God. Since I am taking this discussion in a secular way, I have to consider other religions too.

@JBird I'm speaking purely objectively. Your argument is a false dichotomy. You claim we have to adopt ALL views or none and that's not the only possibility

Firstly, it makes no sense for there to be different means of creation. Only ONE beginning gives us a full set cardinality of just ONE possible creation explanation and religion that can be correct. Second, understand that you come with a direct "postulation," as Pikachu and I have come to be fascinated by the term from another user here which basically means to assume as a foundational truth, that a Creator CANNOT exist. There is no convincing you if that is youe ground premise. Also understand how narrow and foolish of a mindset it is to be a person of science but claim that science is a great explanation of the opinion or stance that atheism takes. It's ironic in my humble opinion
JBird · F
@SW-User firstly, I am not saying the fact that there are millions creators in the world is true. I don't believe in it either. But you're getting into my point. There are more than one religion existing in the world with each of their ideology on how world is created. If there's only one true God, why are people worshipping different Gods? Why nothing happens to people who don't believe in a particular God? If a religion is true, then all the people, including me, would have followed it. I believe this means none of the religion existing in the world is true. Yet the knowledge on a creator is not known. I am not using science. It's just logic. Science is not developed to get that information.

@JBird Do your research. I have studies every religion and I read like crazy a s a child and in college. The other gods don't feed you like Jesus, wont answer your prayers, and don't love you like Jesus. And no one took your place at the cross but Jesus.
JBird · F
@Carazaa no, you didn't. You don't know anything about other religions. If you actually did, you wouldn't have stayed with Christianity.

The other gods don't feed you like Jesus, wont answer your prayers, and don't love you like Jesus.

From what research did you get that? If Jesus answered all the prayers, then all the problems in the world would have been gone and all the people would have followed Christ. Don't kid yourself. Also it's a legend that Christ hung on the cross and he died. There's no other evidence on that.
Carazaa · F
@JBird Who was it that said that we shouldn't argue about religion in another post?
JBird · F
@Carazaa wow, you wanted to that question right now when you don't have an answer to my questiona? 😆 I already argued with many users who had incorrect views on atheism and other religions. But I really don't want to argue about religions but I am compelled to because people here shamelessly condemn others who don't have same beliefs as them, just like one of the user said, it's never gonna stop.
Carazaa · F
@JBird I answered it but you are arguing my answer. Have a nice evening. Study all the religions and read the entire Bible too! Good night!
JBird · F
@Carazaa for the last time, you don't have to tell me that. Even if I do it again, my stand will be the same. It's you who should read the Bible again because you keep ignoring all of its negative aspects. If I tell you which religion is better, it's Buddhism.

No, you didn't discuss anything. You accuse me of arguing, which I am not, because you don't have an answer to my questions. You're running away from confrontation.
