Have You ever experienced Ego Death? [Spirituality & Religion]

I am just going through it now in a natural way. Real Eye-Opening experience. And No, I didn't take anything to reach it. And I am glad I reached it naturally.

If you have, then care to share how you experienced it?

And who is teaching you this ego death? We must be careful whom we allow to teach us. Even Satan can place thoughts in our own understanding that SEEM like our own thoughts of wisdom and understanding, but are not. He is the great deceiver. What you call "ego death" is what the Bible describes as dying to self (the ego) and the flesh. Not letting our emotions control us, nor think that we are higher or better than others.

You said...." If you have a reason to do anything for yourself and for others, just so you can feel to be a part of the community and society to belong somewhere, even when we don't think about it while doing it, is nothing but Ego to make us look good in our own eyes and others around us."

Not all people who do for others, do it to look good to others or in their own eyes. That's a very judgemental statement you've made. They do it to strictly help others. There are some good people in this world, not driven by ego. God gave us the ability to put evil thoughts, PRIDE,  self-righteousness, and selfishness aside, which is nothing but EGO, and put them under submission. And God gave us a conscience to know right from wrong. Ego is a person's SENSE of self-esteem or self-importance. It is self trying to think more highly of ourselves, than should be.  Or....can even go the other way and have us thinking very poorly of ourselves, but those ideas certainly weren't given by Jesus.  Jesus said we have need that no man should teach us, only the Holy Spirit to teach us things...not flawed man. 1 John chapter 2 verse 27 tells us that by the anointing by the Holy Spirit, which you (any born-again Christian) have received of God, abides in you and you have no need that any man teach you, but as the same anointing of the Holy Spirit teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it has taught you, you shall abide in Him. These "New Age"  or foreign to biblical teachings that man seeks his own truth, found only in himself, is a devil's lie, that seeks to lead us astray from God...NOT draw us to Him.

God said that "man cannot be smarter nor wiser than God" NOT because we, as humans, are still lacking control over our emotions and letting go, but because wisdom comes only from God and HIS teachings. Man's reasonings are never better nor wiser than God's because we have flawed reasoning. God does not. That is why God said not to lean on our own understanding,  but to seek instruction and guidance from His perfect Word and the Holy Spirit. "There is a way that seems right unto man, but the end thereof is death." Proverbs 14:12 Meaning physical and spiritual destruction. Those with rampant egos, think way too highly of themselves; that they control everything, when in fact, they should be seeking God and His wisdom. How egotistic to believe we have all the answers within.

@LadyGrace No one teaches me this. It is an obvious thing that our ego prevents us from seeing it which are already present and once we see it we either claim it to come from God because our ego has portrayed an Image into ourselves that we can't be that greater than god because if we do ego loses its control over us but in reality, we can be greater. Isn't it so obvious that your ego is not letting you have an open mind and subjecting you to believe that what you have learned through the Bible is true? I don't say the thoughts in the holy book are bad or wrong. But they are mostly controlling you to be distracted than to be enlightened and be closer to god. Yes, we all are doing good by following and helping people out.

Man's definition of Ego is different than it should be. It is purely diluted by ego itself to protect itself from being targeted.

I cannot debate the existence of how truthful any religious statements made in their holy books are. But I agree they were made and written there for a reason. Do you know that in the old time, it wasn't the government but the religious churches rule over the countries? Do you know how churches controlled people in the name of god? These are merely questions one must ask.

Our religious ego won't let us pass and be equal to god. An what is wrong in being equal to a holy good spiritual being? Why is it preventing you from moving past that bridge? Easy, Your Ego controls you, deceives you and confines you with a perspective not greater than itself.

Do you know why? Ego was purely made to control people and their emotions. But I don't disagree with the Proverbs as well. Ego is self-controlling and deceiving at the same time and it is what we call a demon. Live Proverb 14:12 only suggest how ego-centric person thinking highly of oneself has no control over his own emotions and is blinded by ego thinking he is greater than mankind. But a person Experiencing Ego death is different, far different than such a person. They don't proclaim themselves higher or greater. They are just purely accepting the reality and witnessing something they haven't before and seeing their own fault.

Ego is nothing but the reasoning and lack of emotional control. As humans, we are still moving towards the evolution of controlling our emotions.

Bible and all the holy books teach us 2 things, one purely came from god and the other purely from mankind himself. First one which came from God, if you look at it closely to every story, it all about self Control, meaning emotional control and to let go. And the second thing that mankind (mankind's ego of his god is true and not any other) included in it was about worshipping God and any other this is a demon trying to lure you away. So human in nature to that. I don't disagree with the demon's existence nor of gods. They are being of Balance, One teaches Control while one punishes us if we don't.

@LadyGrace I never said I have answers but I said we see what's really happening. You won't understand unless you experience one.
@Jester1987 I understand alright. James 1:5. "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of GOD, that gives to all men liberally, and upbraids not; and it shall be given him." Wisdom clearly comes from God, not ourselves. God tells us how to get it, by seeking it from Him.
