I am unsure if I could consider myself morally superior because I really don't base the bible as my only tool to understand God. If everything that is written in the bible is completely endorsed and conducted by God himself, i'd have little choice but to see him in a different light than I do now. The way I see it, A God, whether it is the Christian God, Zeus, Loki, Lakshmi, has the right to do certain things that do not pertain to mankind. God himself instructed David to kill a man...Goliath I think. I may be wrong but if what I read in the bible is factual, then perhaps God himself cares not how his will is done whether it is done by his own hand, his angels or a human..It just has to be his will.

Yeah i don't see any problem with that. Taking the bible as the actual word of god is problematic. Far more sensible to take it as men's interpretation of god.

@Pikachu I was vehemently anti abortion before reading a bible passage that said something about dashing infants against stones, killing them. I say if any Christian wants to use the bible as the ultimate method to morality, they will need to address that as well as the MANY contradicting passages. I believe in God and I always will but I am humble enough to acknowledge what I feel is wrong....

@SW-User Around 1/3rd of first pregnancies spontaneously abort, usually before the woman even realises that she’s pregnant. It seems that god either isn’t a christian, or certainly doesn’t share their view of morality.

@newjaninev2 Many of those miscarriages are because there are some birth defects and its natural. The doctor told me that my amniotic fluid had broken and was going to miscarry in my 5th month I prayed and God heard my prayer and my son delivered at term. Then the little guy had his umbilical cord around his neck and came out blue and I lay there for 4 hours thinking he was dead. The doctor said if you are a praying person this would be a good time to pray. He survived. He looked at me when I came into the intensive care and then he fell asleep. He was fine... God heard my prayers. But some go to heaven and we will see them there I believe.

The thing that breaks my heart about stories like that is your child lived (thank goodness) and you thank god for that. But all the mothers who pray and pray and pray and their children still die...what of them? Why wasn't god there for them? Were their children not worth as much? Were they not christian enough to save their children's life?

Remember the hits and dismiss the misses. That's how miracles work.

@Carazaa Your medical staff did a sterling job

@Pikachu The thing that breaks my heart is people who blame God, and take no responsibility for themselves and live for this life. You have no idea why God does things. You judge God. it is very foolish. God sees eternity, you don't. Heaven is better than this world. There is a reason for everything in this life, for our good. Sometimes you sound like a 3 year old who throws a tantrum because you can't understand why people don't all get what they want. God wants our very best!

@newjaninev2 Yes Dr. Rose in San Diego she was terrific!
@Carazaa

Yeah that's where faith comes in. You don't have an answer for why god lets the children of other mothers die. So you believe that he does it for a good reason.
Just remember that for every miracle story like yours, there are other people who suffered tragedy despite their prayers.
Faith makes allowance of a lot of things.
Must be nice.
