My faith was shattered when a little girl died horrifically in the ICU room next to mine when I was recovering from blood clots in my lungs.
I’m sorry. 😞 I struggle when children die, but am comforted knowing they are in heaven hurting no more. Life on earth is so hard.😢@NativeOregonian

@NativeOregonian WOW...I don't blame you :(

@MissMollyCharlotte0702 She was in cardiac arrest from blood poisoning and I heard the doctors and nurses working on her and I was praying like I never had before then. They saved her once but had another cardiac arrest five minutes later and could not save her. When I heard the doctor call time of death the tears would not stop, when they told her mother and she lost it, I lost it as well. I lost all my faith right there.

@Girlygirl099 I was 43 at the time, already lived a full life, she was only 3, just starting life. I survived something that should have killed me and she died. The past six years have haunted me since and I still wake up to this day sobbing when I dream about it.

@NativeOregonian That is so traumatizing :( my heart broke reading that.

@Girlygirl099 That is why I can no longer believe in any such deity that even allowed her to get that blood poisoning to begin with.

@NativeOregonian Having heard that story, I'm not going to try to convince you otherwise. I have no words, that's horrible.
That’s devastating. 😞 I’m really sorry. I’m sorry that you’ve taken this so hard. What a beautiful heart you have and your prayer was heard, but unfortunately she was given heavenly healing rather than healing here on earth. God had a bigger plan for her though. @NativeOregonian

@Girlygirl099 Thank you 🤗

@MissMollyCharlotte0702 Thank you for your kind words, and even though I used to say the same thing in the past myself, almost went into the ministry at 26, I can no longer believe those words anymore, not after experiencing that, and knowing that her mother lost her dear child. Many parents become Atheists after losing their child. Even though I took it really hard myself, I cannot imagine what her mother went through, I just thank the Universe that she didn't hear what I did.
God never promised bad things wouldn’t happen to us. His promise is that he will never leave us or forsake us. We live in a fallen world. Children are with him where there is no crying or pain.
I know someone whose little boy died of drowning. They now created a project to teach parents about drowning and trying to save other lives.
This little girl may have touched lives of others that you might not be aware of like she touched yours. We don’t always see everything in it’s entirety.
I’m just sorry it’s affected you so deeply.
She is in the arms of Jesus. I refuse to believe children go anywhere else when they die as the bible speaks of God’s children. @NativeOregonian

@MissMollyCharlotte0702 I no longer believe any of those things anymore. Even Billy Graham's own personal assistant left the faith and became an Atheist in the 50's after a horrible family tragedy.
Do you think it’s more of anger toward God rather than believing he doesn’t exist? Maybe ignoring him due to personal tragedy? What do you think? What you experienced was traumatic.
I have lost so many relatives in the last 17 years. Miscarried Twins, lost my parents, cousins, aunties, uncles. The first two were the hardest. I suffer from depression and ptsd. I was angry with God, but at the same time I felt abandoned and had no one else. Without God my life becomes so dark and meaningless. God is real and my faith is constantly tested. Some days I long to go to heaven so I don’t have to endure anymore loss, but I have to trust in him that he knows what is best.
@NativeOregonian
But look at the millions who came to know Christ because of Billy Graham. I loved him. He was such an amazing man of God. @NativeOregonian
