I notice the British press shy away from certain words [Spirituality & Religion]

For the record, I dislike all of the Abrahamic religions. However, the British press have a hard time ever using the word 'Islam'. When groups of muslims, and purely muslims, protested against and successfully shut down LGBTQ lessons in British schools, the BBC referred to it simply as '"religion" vs lgbtq, but if a group of christians did something, no hesitation in calling them a christian group. And then "so called" islamic state, rather than "islamic state". Or, "the offending pictures of muhammed have to be blurred". I think we know why. Now, we have an unspecified religion in the arab world which encourages wearing headscarfs. Wonder which one that would be. In naming the ideology, what sort of reaction are you worried of getting, from who and why?

@Emosaur The fringe left's disgusting, despicable acceptance of Islam, whilst attacking christianity, was one of the first things that led me to reject the fringe left for the power hungry cult that doesn't actually help the oppressed, that it is. My dad raised me as a christian, i went to a church of england school and i was taken to church on sundays. My dad also encouraged me in science, a subject which I loved. I quickly came to question my religious upbringing and accepted evolution. As a young teenager, I moved to a secular college, and Richard Dawkins and attacking religion was the in thing. It wasn't the typical "religious people are stupid hur hur", but with my scientific education and religious background, I was interested in very serious debates on the validity of god and its relation to science. The west of course slowly witnessed the results of importing islam. At first, for a brief brief time during the life of Hitchens, some on the secular left would attack Islam. This quickly changed. All of a sudden it was "we have to respect religion. but ONLY islam". Not only did attacking christianity remain on the table, but it seemed mandatory. Whilst not only could you not attack islam, it was treated like a racist attack if you did. Islam is undeniably thousands of times worse than Islam. Throwing homosexuals off rooftops, jihad, the life of muhammed. It should be attacked, if not more than christianity. But when not only these same liberals (who have been fooled into a disgusting fringe left cult) twisted their logic to defend islam, but also pretend that to criticise it in the way they encouraged us to criticise christianity is to be racist - I find so reprehensible. I've had a deep distrust for anything the fringe left does now. Because clearly it's not about justice, truth or protecting people. I could go on a lot longer but didn't want a massive wall of text for you to read. We can continue over PM if you like, as it's great to see someone bring this up!

@Emosaur It's rare to find someone who doesn't mindlessly conform to the point that they will defend a disgusting religion to fit in to a cult that pretends to hate religious bigotry whilst defending said religion, whilst attacking a different religion who they know is actually very tolerant, so they can pose as fighting religion.

Purely LGBT lessons are a ridiculous notion anyway. I could understand it as part of a 'Sociology' style lesson, but not a whole course devoted to it. 🙄

That sort of attitude will get worse if Corbyn gets into power
