Is the god of the bible a moral being? [Spirituality & Religion]

Syllogism time:

Killing a baby is always immoral no matter who does it or for what reason.
God killed many, many babies in the flood.
Therefore god is immoral.

Mankind does not understand or can explain the supernatural.

God is supernatural.

Mankind can not understand or can explain God.

Absolutely agree.
To bring it back to the subject, man cannot understand and explain why god committing mass murder of infants is the act of a just, loving being.

I guess that's where faith comes in. Sure, it might SEEM like a horrifying act of merciless butchery....but i guess we'll take the butcher's word for it that it's all ok!😆

@Pikachu
Absolutely agree.
And then you begin to argue with yourself!
@Budwick

No...
No i think what i was doing was agreeing that god is inexplicable by any recognizable standard of morality.

@Pikachu Did you see my earlier response?

@Budwick

Yes and i agree. If we must believe that god is moral but his actions appear decidedly immoral, we cannot understand god.

But accepting a priori that he is moral is kind of a self-imposed handicap🤷🏻

@Pikachu Sounds like a personal problem.

You always seem to assume that God sees things the way you do, or at least that He should. Presumptuous if you ask me.
@Budwick

lol yes. A self-imposed handicap is certainly a personal problem.
Jeez, we've never agreed on so much lol.
You always seem to assume that God sees things the way you do
Nope.
Quite the opposite, actually. I am convinced that if the abrahamic god exists then he/she/it certainly doesn't see things the way humans do.
Which is why he can perform acts of mass butchery and still announce that he loves us.
You know who does that kind of thing in a human context?
Psychopaths.🤷🏻
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Pikachu I see that handicap kicked in again.
@Budwick

Lol sounds like we agree again. Just in opposite directions, if you follow me😉
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Pikachu We agree in the opposite directions?

Spoken like a true atheist.
@Budwick

lol evidently you did NOT follow me.
As in you we both believe the other is exhibiting a handicap😉

LOL, evidently you do not follow God.
@Budwick

Um yeah...that's the one point we've agreed on...
lol pay attention!
