As others have stated, atheism is simply a lack of belief in Gods. That's a bit too broad to bring a community together. In a way you can look to Christianity and how they have dozens of kinds of churches for differences they have despite believing in the same god.
Humanism is a good, non-God required, community group. Sadly not all areas have them but many do. I've often thought it would be great to start a community group for the faithless that was focused on bringing people together without religion. But I lack the energy to do so myself.
