Do you think about your own death? [Spirituality & Religion]

Recently, i have been thinking about death a lot, and I just can't quite feel comfortable about dying; sometimes before i sleep I just think about death. Nothing I do seems to make me feel better about my own mortality.

It sucks for an atheist

Yea, I’m just sayin it sucks for me. An afterlife seems to me like wishful thinking

I guess all you can do is try to squeeze the most out of life

@Rickg Yes, I think you're right, but that attitude requires courage;the courage to admit you don't know how long you've get so lets try to make the best of every moment. XD Its much easier to ignore it.

Yea, well it may not be possible to achieve what you want, but try at least

Thankfully, we weren’t left to guess about what happens after death. John 3:16 talks about how to have eternal life in heaven after we die. Eternal means just that...we do live forever. We can either accept that, or not. If we do nothing, and make no choice at all, our sins still separate us from God the Father, so we don’t want to miss our chance to ask Jesus to forgive us of our sins, so we can receive His forgiveness and live with God forever in heaven.

Jesus was letting us know there is hope....that we do have a soul, and it lives on eternally. Our body dies and goes to the grave, until it is reunited with our soul on the Day of Resurrection. Our soul never dies.

When we die, we enter immediately into God’s presence, if we belong to Christ. From our earthly point of view, death looks somewhat like sleep—but not from God’s point of view. Paul declared, “We are confident (of eternal life), I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8). Elsewhere he wrote, “I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far” (Philippians 1:23).

We will be given new bodies—bodies that will never age or be subject to death again, because they will be like Christ’s resurrection body. As the Bible says, “The dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:52).

My dad died recently, he was a Christian and had an incredible peace in his last few days, he knew he was going to be with his Saviour in heaven. I put this picture on the order of service at his funeral

When you get older and live and have a legacy to leave behind it makes it easier to accept.

Yeah, more about the world-after-my-death... Like would anyone remember me? Would those who have pissed me off for a lifetime feel any regret? Very childish, I know 😂

Your mom would slap you for talking stupid like that. Kick ya with a size 10 straight up the ass.

Shut up and go find a mom to visit before I say something mean.

Same.. There's been a lot of people around me and in my family dropping like flies lately and u can't help but think about u may be the next to go..
What bothers you about your mortality?
Gouzi · 26-30, M
@NuclearSub The not existing part. haha
@Gouzi but seriously if you don't exist you won't know any different so why worry?
Gouzi · 26-30, M
@NuclearSub Yes, but we have preknowledge of our non-existence. That is the source of my worry. That i know what will happen.
QueenOfZaun · 26-30, F
I feel the same way.
