No. Because i recognize the difference between a religion and the people who use religion as a weapon.

@Pikachu Excellent answer!

@Pikachu There was a Scotsman whose daughter married an Englishman. Whenever he would visit his daughter and son-in-law he would read the paper and comment about the crimes terrible crimes committed by English people, always saying at the end that no Scotsman would ever do such a thing.

One day a Scotsman was found guilty of murdering two women and a child during a bank robbery. At breakfast the English son-in-law dropped the newspaper with the headlined story in front of is father-in-law, who when he finished reading handed the newspaper back to his son-in-law and said "Aie...but no TRUE Scotsman would ever do such a thing."

I suggest you have never known any Moslems, have never even visited let alone lived or worked in a Moslem country, have never read the Koran and have never had a candid conversation with any Moslem who thought that YOU, too, were Moslem, and so are only going on wishful thinking based on total ignorance and know no more about Islam than I do about cars, a subject I am completely ignorant about.

I am quite willing to have you prove me wrong, however.
@Abrienda

I have indeed known Muslims from my days in univeristy. Christians too.

Do you know what i find? I find that people tend just to be people. When they find out that i don't buy into their religion, we talk about it for a while and then we realize that the other is not changing their mind and we carry on being friends.

Simple.

@Pikachu Yes people are just people...until the day comes when their beliefs make them slit your throat.

And you know what I have found? Banal homilies like "people are just people" are only sign posts on the road to disaster.

Meanwhile, enjoy.

Sorry my answer didn't support your prejudice.

Get over it.

@Pikachu It isn't a prejudice. It is based on three years experience worKing in Saudi Arabia and travelling throughout the Middle e=East (and am typing this from my hotel room in Amman) something I am willing to bet a lot of money you have not done.

Curious how so many Americans here at SW just "happen" to have Moslem "friends"whenever their co-religionists slaughter a few hundred Christians somewhere...you mean of course the kind of real friend you spend weekends with, invite to stay at your house in case of need, go on road trips together or set them up on dates with your sister...that kind of "friend"?

No I didn't think so.

Prejudice is based on ignorance. Of the two of us on the subject of Islam that one is you. What you don't share with me is my experience, my three-timers reading of the Koran once under Islamic instruction and my (limited) knowledge of Arabic. But if you would like to actually get a first hand look at OTHER peoples experience with Islam, perhaps you should book a flight to Sri Lanka and tell those whose family members were killed last Easter Sunday about your great Moslem friends and your little homily about not blaming beliefs "cause people are just people, ya know?"

However, since you have so many Moslem "friends" the next night you go to their house for dinner try this simple test. Ask whichever ones of the many you have this question of your "friend". If your "friend" saw you and someone they knew nothing about except that someone was a Moslem trapped inside a burning house and could save only one of you, which of you would he rescue?

As I said a simple teat but one you wouldn't dare take with your Moslem "friends" real or imaginary.

Meanwhile I will search your posts to see if you afford Christians and Jews the same generosity of spirit you extend Moslems And should I not bother because we both know what the results will be?
@Abrienda

Your personal experience is not EVERYONE's experience, yeah?
It hasn't been mine, certainly.

Is it curious? Bitch please.
I lived in the most multicultural city in the world and went to university there lol.
And no, they were friends i had in university. Like so many of those kinds of friends, they're now my facebook friends.
Not sure what point you thought you were making with that.

but one you wouldn't dare take with your Moslem "friends"

lol i don't know about wouldn't dare, but it's sort of a weird question to ask your friends.

Meanwhile I will search your posts to see if you afford Christians and Jews the same generosity of spirit you extend Moslems

Be my guest. If you find even one single post where i characterize the entire religion negatively then you can expect a full apology.

Curious how the moment you're contradicted you have to start attempting to invalidate the contradiction by questioning its authenticity.
You're straying dangerously close toa no true scotsman there, friendo😉

Again, sorry my answer didn't fit into your narrative.
Get over it.

@Abrienda THIS POST IS OUTSTANDING!

@Pikachu Stop thinking you are so important. If you are going to dispute what I write then you are going to get a reply, it's that simple, so YOU try getting over THAT!

Since you are completely incapable of responding concretely to any point I raise let me give you one more for you to fail at . ...every Moslem...EVERY Moslem including your imaginary Moslem friends want to the see the death of the state of Israel. Every. Single. One. So...ado you consider Israel (or those who have loved ones living in Israel) irrational and "prejudiced" while you remain oh so lily white and pure? The next time your imaginary Moslem friends drop by for tea why not ask them what they would like to see done with the Jewish state...and Jerusalem of course.

You see, you really just don't know what you are talking about, do you?

I don't mind at all being educated by someone with more experience or knowledge on a subject than I do...can you say the same? It seems not and are so pathetically ignorant but proud that you must create imaginary Moslem friends to save you having to be honest and admit it. But do continue refusing to listen to those who know more about something than you do and rush back into your intellectual echo chamber where you and your friends (real and imagined) hear only what you want to hear.

PS ~ It's obvious you did not understand the point of the "true" Scotsman story. Next time I will try something banal enough for you to comprehend.
