I love Rick Wiles. The only man in the world capable of appearing on television and arguing that the US army has been overrun by "atheist Pagan Nazis" [Spirituality & Religion]

Dude says that Ellen Degeneres is a leader of the deep state and that she represents "the new American Nazi movement" because Adolf Hitler and all his top people were bisexuals. God bless you, Rick Wiles, you're adorable.

Except some people believe that stuff, and it can get other people killed.

@Lila15 Rick Wiles has roughly 8 listeners. Thank fuck.

@BlueMetalChick I'm a big proponent of free speech, but that guy sounds like he's verging on "shouting fire in a crowded theater" territory.

OK, I just looked that guy up. He's a religious bigot, anti-LGBT, and an anti-semite. Big surprise. Maybe if Pete Buttigieg is elected president, Wiles' head will explode.

@Lila15 As much as I dislike Buttigieg, I'd almost vote for him just to see that 😂😂

@BlueMetalChick What don't you like about him? Too earnest and clean-cut?
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@Lila15 Nah, that's identity stuff. It's his politics I dislike. He seems like a nice guy, but he's too much of a corporatist for me to take his side.

Don't get me wrong, he would be way better than President Adderall in the White House right now. I'd take fifty years of Buttigieg over even another year of Trump.

@BlueMetalChick I don't get that he's a corporatist, but then, he hasn't really made his positions clear. That's the problem I have with Beto, too - they seem to be running on charisma alone. Beto's an empty suit, but Pete had better come up with some specific proposals, otherwise, I'm back to trying to decide between Sanders and Warren.

And WTF, Biden is now going to run. And he has a good chance of getting the nomination. His support among African-Americans is sky-high, which means he will win all of the southern states.

@Lila15 I would personally choose Sanders between the two but I do like Warren a lot and think she would make a good president. I'm throwing my chips in with Sanders though because I feel that he has a better chance of winning the primary, and a better chance of winning the general. If Warren took it though I'd still be quite happy.

To the point about corporatism. Pete, and Beto too since you mention him, are both less corporatist than the current president, and less corporatist than the aforementioned Joe Biden, which is good. But they still are tied to the establishment in ways that are not acceptable. Beto's voting record is surprisingly bad; he supported fast-tracking the TPP and outsourcing jobs along with it, and even signed on to legislation to attack the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which returned a total of twelve billion dollars to Americans who had been defrauded or had their identities stolen by criminals or big banks. Pete hedges too hard in favor of for-profit private health insurance companies and Big Pharma executives who price gouge for prescription medication. He also opposed the idea of reimportation of drugs from Canada, a la Cory Booker.
