@Harriet03 but arent they like schools? Ur not forced to go there as an adult.
And as a child u are forced to go to school, just like ur forced to go to church, both have the same concept of if u want to take these teachings into adulthood and pursue it more u can.
Also religions like christianity teaches about love and acceptance that helps lost ppl feel welcomed.

@wakanda4eva Religions usually teach about hate and intolerance so people feel excluded.

@canusernamebemyusername have u ever went to a relgious place before? I was born into a christian family and grew up in a church, I was never taught to hate others, in fact it mostly taught to not judge and understand and love ppl for who they can be and not their actions, I mean I really dont think religion is that bad as people say, also it feels more like an athiest vs christian thing among americans to fight against the over dominating christian driven country before, instead of a athiest vs belief of God/gods in other religions.

@canusernamebemyusername but then again thats what they taught, I became a rebel and hated others for it lol cos I thought they were all being hypocrites and I also felt excluded cos I never could fit in, in school as well, but school was more direct bullying. I have fond memories of church, but also bad ones. And I still listen to christian music from time to time cos it soothed me.
@wakanda4eva I've been to multiple religious places before. I grew up in a Christian family. And my family was quite tolerant. But that was because they were good people and not due to the beliefs they held. As other people which held the same beliefs were the exact opposite. The Abrahamic religions have material for both instructing people to hate or to do good. Like love your neighbor as yourself or the other extreme kill children because God told you to. It is person themselves which will choose which scriptures to follow. And in doing so show who they really are. Unfortunately what I have seen is people picking the scriptures which promote hate more. Westboro Baptist?
