Why do people always forget the word 'theory' in the theory of evolution? [Spirituality & Religion]

Its just a theory. I'll pass no commentary on its validity, just pointing that out.

Those theories and theorems. Yep. Just can't trust them.

Pythagorean’s “theory” right ? 😂
Let me help out the non mathematicians. The two words do not mean the same thing.
@Pfuzylogic OK. Legit.

Replace the Pythagorean Theorem above with Einstein's special and general theories of relativity.
Pfuzylogic · M
@CopperCicada okay then nix the illustration as theory...even the Big Bang ergo the theory of relativity idea is going through some serious challenges on whether it is an idea based on data and evidence !
@Pfuzylogic The general and special theories of relativity are rigorously proven. Not sure what exactly is on the rocks.
Pfuzylogic · M
@CopperCicada
Not sure where you get your latest but if dated material works so be it.
@Pfuzylogic It's not dated. A physical theory need not explain every phenomenon.

The special and general theories of relativity are well tested.

Quantum gravity? No. Big bang? No.

But they are well tested.

@CopperCicada
You still wish upon a Star and believe in black holes?
@Pfuzylogic One can test the special and general theories of relativity without a single black hole being involved. Black holes are irrelevant.
Pfuzylogic · M
@CopperCicada
I am glad you concede the obvious. There are a lot of people that will consume whatever you feed them regarding theories and thereoms. I just like to keep the “scientists” honest.
@Pfuzylogic I'm not really doing anything other than saying the general and special theories of relativity can be tested without black holes and big bang-- the things that get people worked up.
Pfuzylogic · M
@CopperCicada
You did nothing but intentionally confuse people on the meaning of theory and inferred an interchange with thereom.
Shame the devil and tell the truth!

@Pfuzylogic
the Big Bang ergo the theory of relativity idea
😂😂😂

Wtf dude.
Pfuzylogic · M
@QuixoticSoul
The Big Bang theory was connected to the Theory of Relativity;
why the profanity?

Your response make no sense
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Pfuzylogic Because the theory of relativity is completely independent of big bang model, and predates it. It was formulated when most cosmologists preferred the "Steady State" model of the universe. It's also tremendously well supported, and is in no way on the rocks - despite its well known and understood limitations about things that are very very small.

You have all of these things jumbled up in your head somehow - you sort of know what they are, but the relationships between all of these things are totally confused, and your understanding of how science functions and what it ultimately is, is very poor. I don't know how you got this way, but you really have to return to the fundamentals.

@QuixoticSoul
Honestly you need to cut out your personal assessment of me because you stretch out the word “ergo” for your purpose.
Let me be clear then.
Big Bang is crap
The amount of evidence we have about the Universe is 1% and that is hardly enough to come up with a story.
Play judgement on me.
I judge you.
You are afraid that all of the things that you believe are shaken by data collected last year. Examine yourself and your attitude towards Science.
Don’t be a Hawking who dies on Pi day and wanted to be buried next to Newton or a “Sir Roger” that is stuck in the corner he painted himself.
The facts prove different than the “cosmic egg” story they adopted from Hubble.
Get a new attitude.
Science is not making up a story and hope new facts don’t contradict it.
Real science is stating what is known.
Don’t come across as closed minded and judgemental. It isn’t becoming.
The new generation deserves more than that. They see the wild forgery the wizard does behind the curtain.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Pfuzylogic Afraid? Lmao, if there is a revolution in cosmology due to new data I'd be thrilled. And as cosmology is still a new and fast moving field, I hope to see a few of those revolutions in my lifetime.
Science is not making up a story and hope new facts don’t contradict it. Real science is stating what is known.
As I keep saying - revisit the fundamentals. This is a fantastic mischaracterization of the process.
Pfuzylogic · M
@QuixoticSoul
As I stated before cut the condescension if you want a discussion.
It is obvious that you have no idea what the new cosmological facts are.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Pfuzylogic Call it whatever, you just seem to have a weird view on how the whole things works that's pretty out of step with reality of the methodology or the process. What a law is. What a theory is, what it's for, and how it's used. How science progresses, and what sort of knowledge it generates. You've managed to miss the point of all of it. The real issue isn't even with anyone's awareness of facts here, you have a philosophy of science problem.

I haven't even discussed any cosmological facts with you here, new or old. What I did talk about, was that the theory of relativity is not threatened by any supposed upcoming failure of the big bang model. Which is true.

Hawking is buried next to Newton. And Darwin. That's pretty sweet.

Gaia found the biggest black hole ever last year, btw.
Pfuzylogic · M
@QuixoticSoul
We talked about the fact that black holes didn’t exist as science had previously established without question.
I introduced you to new science.
You are welcome.
