Why Is It So Hard? [Spirituality & Religion]

Why is it so hard for skeptics to believe that Yahweh, the God who lives forever, is God? What's the big deal?

Well the nature of being a skeptic is that you believe something is true after sufficient evidence has been presented, not before.

There simply isn't compelling evidence for the existence of a god, much less your personal god.
Simple as that.

@Pikachu I see you've wondered out in left field again, my friend. God left evidence all around, nothing bad either. You can't see His good work because you chose not see it. You're disbelief will not make Him go away or change the fact that He created everything in the universe and on the earth. It was perfect until man messed things up by falling and bringing everything else down with him.

@ThatCommieChick That's not what I said. I said God created evil for man to overcome it. He didn't let it loose on mankind but allowed mankind to take it before its time. God commanded Adam and Eve not to consume the knowledge of good and evil or they would die and He was right. Once they consumed the knowledge of good and evil, they died; they didn't die a physical death, they died a spiritual death which separated them from God. Their physical death came later.

@ThatCommieChick
So you believe God created evil on purpose. Meaning without him there would be no evil. How can you believe mankind ruined the world then?
God created evil for the purpose of free will He created in His angels and with us. I believe that mankind ruined the world by misusing the gift of free will that God gave them.

@ThatCommieChick
Therefore, all evil that exists in the world is a direct result of god's will.
As I said before, it was not God's will for evil to overtake mankind but God knew that the path the men would take would bring evil upon themselves before their time and provided a way to save His creation through Jesus Christ by His Holy Spirit.

@ThatCommieChick
It doesn't matter if it was his will for evil to overtake mankind.
God is not a cruel God to do such a thing to His own creation. Man brought all this evil on himself.

@ThatCommieChick That's not what I said. Please, do not put words in my mouth, okay? Read what I said again.

@ThatCommieChick
I read what you said, but when one says that they do not consider a being to be cruel by inventing the entirety of evil, then logically, you must not believe that evil is cruel.
By whose logic are you referring to? Why wouldn't I think evil is cruel? For what purpose do you think God created evil?

@ThatCommieChick
I don't think god created evil at all.
I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: 6That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. 7I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. (Isaiah 45:5-7)

Again, God didn't create evil to overcome mankind. It was created so that we can exercise free will and over come it. Without it, God would've created robots instead of free thinking human beings.

@ThatCommieChick
And some words written thousands of years ago by some camel herders is what you take as an authority?
Learn your history. People thousands of years ago held authoritative positions that are still being held today. As for the Word of God, it's called the Word of God because wrote it which is why I put my trust in it. Even though Revelation, its last book was written about 2000 years ago, we're still living it out. There are prophesies that haven't been fulfilled yet.

@ThatCommieChick
So none of the biblical prophesies have come true but you still trust the book?
A lot of prophesies in that book came true: Israel becoming a nation again in 1948 is one of them. Jesus fulfilled every one of the prophesies concerning Him is another. Look them up for yourself.

@ThatCommieChick I'm impressed that you managed to keep him on track for so long. And I love your logic.

@ThatCommieChick
None if Jesus' prophesies came to pass.
The Word of God says otherwise.

@ThatCommieChick Have you noticed the distinct inability to actualy argue a point in his responses?
