Why Is It So Hard? [Spirituality & Religion]

Why is it so hard for skeptics to believe that Yahweh, the God who lives forever, is God? What's the big deal?

"Many are called
Few are chosen".

It will be the job of the chosen to teach them
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M

@GodSpeed63 Because he loves you, if you don't love him back. Eternal damnation in fiery Hell.
That's a psychopath!!!!

@Harriet03
Eternal damnation in fiery Hell. That's a psychopath!!!!
The 'psychopath' isn't God but anyone who chooses hell over heaven after they've heard the good news of salvation.

@Harriet03
I hope your not allowed near children!!
I'm always around children who love God.

2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me." (Matthew 18:2-5)

10 “Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven. 11 For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost." (Matthew 18:10 & 11)

That is the mark of a loving Father for His children.

@GodSpeed63 Indoctrination!! Get em while there young, frighten them with stories of Hell..
Btw it's geography that makes you believe, your particular fairytale..
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Harriet03
Indoctrination!
No indoctrination about it. God's Word is the Truth. It's the only solid truth we have in this fallen world of lies. You want to talk about false indoctrination, start with what you're believing in.

@GodSpeed63 Religion is a mental illness!!

@Harriet03 without religion there would be no civilization. I guess we are all just a bunch of crazies.
JimboUk · 31-35, M
@Harriet03 While you sit on your pedestal looking down on religious people with your vicious hatred and bitterness let's quote Albert Einstein : "All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree" Your so ignorant I bet you don't have a clue what he meant.
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@JimboUk Lol it was actually Einstein, who said religion is delusional!!
The letter he wrote, quoting that was Auctioned last week.
I know your not keen on FACTS but there you go 🤷‍♀️

I actually agree.

But that doesn't mean that the religion is also true, or that it can't be done away with (FWIW I don't think it should be); just that it (was) the foundation for our civilisation.
@Lostpoet That is false.

@BlueClapTrap Nope, any where there has been a civilation there has been a beginning of creation story. And spookily most of them sound a lot of the same.

It's clear you don't know what he meant.

@BlueClapTrap
Wasn't civilization born out of necessity?
Sure, and underpinned and cemented by religion; the two in a primitive sense are quite reinforcing.

I'm not saying that today is 'better' in this sense, but civilisation today while sometimes maintaining some religious trappings (and the ideas may have partly been derived from religious teaching), is underpinned and cemented by other ideas, such as the rule of law, representative participation in governance, and tolerance (though this has given rise to some frankly whacky ideas too)

@BlueClapTrap But how can you trust a stranger unless you both believed in a higher power that doesn't like when people are dishonest.
