Evil is the product of the devil. There is no evil in God. Evil will be cast out of heaven. God gave us free will. When we lust for evil or choose, because we have already sinned against him in our heart, God gives us over to our evil desires and then we sin against him and face judgment. In Heaven there will be no more temptation by the devil. However the devil was once in heaven and was cast out. He was a fallen angel. So do you think if in heaven with free will you can rebel against God and not be cast out? Absolutely not.
@gregloa

Does the bible say that evil is only because of the devil's influence?
I'm just curious as to whether that is church teaching or biblical revelation.
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Pikachu your master is God or the Devil. There is no in between. And yes it does so you could assume that after the devil is gone and no longer can influence then it would be impossible to sin in heaven.
@gregloa

Could you tell me which verses deal with the devil being the only influence for evil?
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Pikachu James 4:7, Ephesians 4:26-27, Ephesians 6:16, 1st Peter 5:8-9 on and on.
@gregloa

Well i think you'll admit that not a single one of these tells us that the devil is the source or indeed the only source of sin.
If you disagree then you're certainly welcome to offer an interpretation which suggests that.
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Pikachu if you have Common sense and can read of course they do.
@gregloa

Sorry, but you've just deployed a logical fallacy. Appeal to common sense is not an argument.
Declaring that it is common sense does not explain the point to or anybody else.

So again, if you disagree with my assessment of the supplied passages, please make your argument.
If you do not wish to carry on this discussion then simply say so and we'll end it.

@Pikachu Revalation 12:9 how about this one?
@gregloa

What about it? It says that the devil may lead people astray. In the context of this theology i'm not contesting that.
What i'm asking you to show is evidence that the devil is the only source of sin.
Because if he's not then that means that just because the devil is not in heaven does not mean that sin and evil can't be there...provided we're still human in heaven.
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Pikachu acts 26:18
@gregloa

Dude, i get it. The devil can cause you to sin.
Looking for the part where you explain that the devil is the only source of human evil.
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Pikachu John 8:44, acts 5:3
@gregloa

Still waiting for you explanation. I mean i guess keep posting scripture if you want.
If one of them says that the devil is the only source of sin in humanity then it will finally answer the question i asked you.
Not sure what the others are for though...
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Pikachu how is it that satan has so filled your heart that you still don’t believe me? One scripture says the devil is the father of sin. How does that not explain it? All the others are examples of someone sinning and even Jesus says it’s satan inspired. How can you not see that? And the last one acts 5:3 clearly states that satan is responsible for filling the mans heart with evil. The clear answer is no matter even if proof is provided satan has filled your heart with disbelief
@gregloa

You've provided a number of verses most of which deal with the devil being the enemy or at least in part responsible for sin.

All i'm asking for is scriptural proof that the devil is the ONLY source of sin.
You can get upset about the devil filling my heart till the cows come home.
What i'm waiting for is for you to make your argument.

Maybe an analogy will help.
This might seem a little sexist but i assure you that, that is not my intention.

If a woman seduces a man to cheat on his wife, can we then presume that the only reason men cheat is because they've been seduced?
If we hear a few examples of women seducing men to cheat on their wives does that prove that men only cheat on their wives if they've been the victim of seduction?

Well no, obviously. Because people cheat for a number of reasons.

So can you connect the dots for me here? Can you explain how the devil being the tempter of men means that ALL sinful temptations are from the devil? Can you provide biblical evidence that ALL evil is put in our hearts by the devil?

If you can't then how can you tell me that we will have free will in heaven but there will be no evil?
@gregloa So, since god created the devil, he created evil?
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Pikachu I refer back to the Oozlum bird.
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Pikachu as I said the devil is your father. Your heart is full of hate and deceitfulness. You live to disprove Gods existence and his word. You even claim to not believe in your father satan who lives in your heart. Your heart is so hardened it’s unbelievable. This you have certainly proven to me.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@gregloa Big call. Can you back it up?
@gregloa

That was not a response to anything i just said.
I'm not sure what you were aiming to achieve with that post but you'll agree that it was not a rebuttal.

I'm happy to wait until you are prepared to offer one. No rush.
Or you can keep preaching as if that somehow substitutes for an argument.

Up to you.
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Bushranger he already had
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@gregloa Please indicate precisely how.
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Bushranger you two are brothers. You know exactly how.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@gregloa I'll take that first bit as a complement. I quite enjoy Picachu's posts.

If you mean questioning things as being an indication of demonic possession, then I guess we are guilty as charged. However, I personally see questioning as a positive thing.
