Why doesn't god want me to believe in him? [Spirituality & Religion]

There was a time in my life when i earnestly, desperately asked god to reveal himself to me.
If god is real then he would know how to make me believe. But evidently he hasn't done that.
So either he doesn't exist or he doesn't want me to believe, right?

It might be that He has another way ,another time for your epiphany;alas He sometimes won't appear like a genie of the lamp. It would be more satisfying if things worked like that..

Sure, maybe one day he'll decide it's finally time to reveal himself to me.
Seems to me that it would be better to do that as soon as possible and at a time when i was seeking him, but what do i know lol

Even those with direct contact aren't always so thrilled;St. Teresa of Ávila was knocked off her donkey and fell into the mud, injuring her leg. “Lord,” she said, “you couldn’t have picked a worse time for this to happen. Why would you let this happen?”

And the response in prayer that she heard was, “That is how I treat my friends.”

Teresa answered, “And that is why you have so few of them!” @Pikachu
