Yes I suspected from your disrespectful manner you were doing your best to take a cheap shot but as a Christian I will still answer you with the respect you could not find in your morally superior (to you) mind to offer to educate you so that hopefully you won't ask such questions in this way again
I cannot speak for Protestant Christians but in the Catholic Church we are taught that while the Bible (most particularly the Old Testament) may not be always factually infallible it is always THEOLOGICALLY infallible. For example, for us the point of the story of the Battle of Jericho is not that the walls of the city REALLY collapsed because the Israelites blew ram's horns but that with God's help everything is possible.

Not sure which part of my question was disrespectful. If you point out which part of my criticism was lacking in respect perhaps i can correct it in future.
If i'm being honest, it seems like you're just upset by my question and if you were really turning the other cheek, you wouldn't feel the need to announce it so magnanimously the way you did.
So you don't believe that the bible is the ultimate source of divine morality.
Cool. Then we are in agreement.
But of course, this question was explicitly directed at those christians who do.

Yes, it IS a gotcha question because an answer that is "yes, the bible is a good source of morality" will necessarily force the proponent to make an argument that things like sexism and slavery are moral.
THAT is a position which i am happily prepared to debate.
But you've failed to explain how that is disrespectful. You just got your back up about what i said and decided that since the question makes you uncomfortable, i was being rude.
Yes, you did answer my question and i agreed with you: the bible is not an infallible source for morality.
