Should evolution be taught as factual? Or is it simply a theory?
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Pikachu Don’t answer my question with another question. That’s not how it works. 😠
Moosepantspatty · 31-35, M
@SimplyTracie Tracy, pikachu means to point out that theory and law carry a different definition in the scientific community. Whereas I presume you were using it in its regular sense.
@SimplyTracie
Well ok. Let's not get testy.
Yes, i think that evolution should be taught as factual in the same way that the THEORY of gravitation and the germ THEORY of disease should be taught as factual.
Now that i've answered your question i hope you'll show me the same courtesy.
Can you tell me what you think "theory" means in scientific context?

@Moosepantspatty I understood his question. I think Hippyjoe and Pikachu are discussing it as I write this. Scientific theories make falsifiable predictions.

@Pikachu germ theory - exactly how old is your target class ?
MarmeeMarch · M
@Pikachu Lets teach 7 year olds about bacteria and virus and how they attack the body

....
Sorry, i'm not sure what your point is here.
Is it a criticism? Do you actually want to know if i teach a class and how old my students are?

@Pikachu 16 years ?

@MarmeeMarch Will teaching about bacteria and viruses require teaching how a single cell came to be?
@MarmeeMarch
What does that have to do with the germ theory of disease?
lol
Please make explicit your issue on this subject...

@Pikachu Lets teach germ theory to kindergartners so they will know to wash their hands before eating.
MarmeeMarch · M
@Pikachu OK OK how about this must tell all kids not to pick their nose because of germs ha ha there's a theory
@MarmeeMarch
Sorry dude. I really don't get what you're going for here.
The germ theory of disease is one of THE most important medical discoveries in human history. Before that it was all miasmas and humors.
Learning "kindergarten level" washing your hands saved literally millions of lives.
So what's your objection exactly?

@Pikachu Who says I have an objection I just mention germ theory because you did
