Who controls the world? [Spirituality & Religion]

I just had a Jehova Witness leaflet. It said Satan/Bal/the Devil/Cunnunis (the God of Fire, passion, anger, lust) whatever you want to call him) controls the world. Not Jehova/El/"God"/(the God of Air or the sky, positive action etc).

This actually makes some sense. I always read their leaflets but this one sort of makes sense.

Which leaves me wondering if as Christianity would have you believe their God created "the devil" and cast him out why does he allow him to control earth? If he's more powerful then why let him, why not just stop him? Why send a religion of followers? Devil worshippers don't knock on my door or Pagans or Buddhists. We don't see Hindus trying to convert people. Only Christians and Muslims and Scientologists seem to do this. Doesn't make sense.

I wish people would actually check out these cults. Jehovah's Witnesses do not even believe there is a soul that survives the death of the body. Yet they go door to door trying to earn their way to heaven, which is an impossibility. I’ve talked at length with them. They don’t even know exactly what they believe. They just follow blindly along. They tried to teach me their doctrine, but when I showed them what God’s Word really said, they were stumped and left. They couldn’t answer my questions because they don’t know the Bible nor could explain why they believe as they do. Especially when I pointed out their errors in interpretation. Once they saw they were teaching false doctrine, they went on their way.

Right now, Satan is the ruler of this world, but not the way you’re thinking of it. God hasn’t given up on this world, but it once was given to Adam to have dominion over, before the fall of man. Then, when Adam and Eve sinned, they forfeited that dominion over to Satan, as he is the ruler of darkness and his evil influence is seen everywhere on the earth. Thus, God is showing us just how evil man’s heart is, as evidence of what people do in this world, and just exactly WHY we need Jesus. One day, I believe very soon, Jesus is coming back to rid the world of evil and it’s influence. It’s crucial that we prepare for that by repenting of our sins. There’s no reincarnation or second chances, after one dies. Besides that, it’s ludicrous to even suggest we have no soul, as we wouldn’t even be alive if that was so. Our body dies....for awhile....but our soul and spirit live on throughout eternity.

@LadyGrace yes, I went to Bible study at a Christian Church.

The old testament being a book of stories used to explain the Jewish mystical text to the ley person being my main hang up with the Bible. The tree of life being the tree in the garden of Eden, the seven days of creation are the seven steps of turning thought into form (not actually Severn days) so the old testament is just a Dummies guide. Jesus studied the books at the Jewish temple, had access to the books ley people were not allowed to see and were only available to ley people in around 1909 so Jesus was a very learned man of the time.

I could go on and on. To me it's the feeling of belief that's important not the books behind it. It's a personal experience to have a relationship with a higher power. Jesus wanted to cut out the middle men so individuals could have this but instead he caused the foundings of another religious institution, by accident. Kind of like the Buddha who told people not to worship him but countless people have statues of Buddha's in their home.

It's personal experience that counts rather than what's read imo.
What church is that? I think I can see which one. His Holy Word is not just a book of stories used to explain Jewish mystical text. It’s a million times more. To call it “A Dummies Guide” is so irreverent. In doing so, you’re calling it’s author, the Holy Spirit (do careful search on this) a dummy. These things you’ve listed and have been taught, do not match up with God’s Word, and therefore, cannot be ascribed to as sound teachings, I’m sorry.
@KaiserSolze
@KaiserSolze Further, it’s not the feeling of belief that counts. Anyone can say any thing, about any subject. Even the devil believes and knows God is real, but he’s not going to heaven. What if someone teaches you wrong? Some actually “believe” there’s a God, but even though they believe, they have not given their heart and life to Christ. Jesus warned that if anyone who is teaching you about Him, speaks words that do not match up to His, they are false teachers. We can’t take everyone’s word for it. Diligently seek Him yourself, by going to the source of truth, God’s Word, then you won’t be lead astray.

Matthew 7:15 - "Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves."

Colossians 2:8 - "See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Jesus Christ."

@LadyGrace There is no Christian Church that will tell you the old testament is an easy read book of stories created by Jewish priests to explain the unexplainable to the ley person. Even Jewish priests won't tell you that.

I read the Bible. I then researched the origins of the old testament and historical evidence of Jesus existence. Then I read the Jewish Quaballah. In that is the tree of life, the seven stages of thought into form. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see how the complex "only for priests" version became "the world was created in 7 days" for the ley persons version.

So basically no one has "taught me" what I believe. I've read. I've prayed.

You're quoting and preaching to me and at the same time telling me not to listen to preachers. Doesn't make sense.
You contradict yourself, “yes, I went to Bible study at a Christian Church.“ And no one was preaching to you. It’s called discussion.

@LadyGrace

You mentioned preaching not me.

I posted this post about a short Jehova witness leaflet saying that for once their leaflet might of had a point. It was meant to be more a light hearted post than a deep spiritual discussion.

It is a deep spiritual discussion within Christianity about God being all knowing and therefore knowing who will go to heaven or hell and therefore whether our nature's and actions are predetermined which questions the concept of free will. - That's an interesting spiritual discussion but not one I'm interested in.
Hello???? YOU just mentioned preaching. Goodbye. @KaiserSolze
