@Harriet03 It isn't cherry picking. The old testament is the prophecy of the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Christ. They are Jewish civil, ceremonial, and moral laws. Christ fulfilled this prophecy in the New Testament. The moral character of God conveys through both old and new as do the lessons regarding the power and faithfulness of God; however, Christ embodies those civil and ceremonial, AND moral laws.

It isn't about picking and choosing parts. It's about finding the New Testament truths in the stories and events of the Old Testament.

At least this is how I learned to study the Bible and scripture. One cannot just pull out a passage and run with it. One must look at what came before and after the words and put it in the proper context.

@Pinkstarburst Explain why else there are so many different and contradictory interpretations. It seems that just about every christian faction accuses all the others of misinterpreting the bible.
