93% of the world doesn't believe in atheists, but they don't nag everyone about it all the time! 😆 You guys are so silly!
BlueVeins · 22-25
@puck61 You mean some of them don't nag everyone about it all the time, right? And this post isn't even about atheism. And where'd that number come from?
@BlueVeins 7% of the world population is atheist. It's amazing that such a small religion could be so annoying!

@puck61 First of all, not being an atheist and not "believing" that atheists exist is two different things. The first is fairly ordinary, but the second is... simple ignorance. You'd have to be either a moron, and ignoramus, or a totally brainwashed robot to think there's no such thing as atheists.

Second of all, atheism isn't a religion; it's one view on one issue. A religion is a belief system, whereas atheism is one belief.

Third of all, atheists are only "annoying" online because tons of religious people have made life a living hell for them in real life. Seriously, we're getting exterminated... like, literally dragged out of our homes and killed in a lot of countries, and in still more, like Russia and even Canada, we get arrested just for expressing our opinions.

The annoying qualities that some atheists display on the internet is just an inkling of a reflection of the persecution many of us have been subjected to just for our beliefs. So before you call out the "other" people for being "annoying," maybe consider why they have done what they've done.
@Emosaur Atheists have more faith than most Christians, and are a hell of a lot more religious! People generally don't have such a huge ax to grind with someone they don't believe in. You don't even exist. Atheism is in your imagination, and the truth always comes out when you are faced with imminent death! That 7% would be the first to hit their knees and plead with that "magic faerie in the sky", that they spend most of their time whining at! Atheism is an imaginary religion made up of people who are angry with God and bitter about the concept of accountability.
@BlueVeins Why consider such a small percentage of people who have such an enormous beef with their creator that they obsess about His non existence day in and day out! 😆
BlueVeins · 22-25
@puck61 Atheists don't have beef with "their creator;" they have beef with enormous numbers of otherwise normal and ethical people pushing for irrational, suicidal, and/or oppressive causes for superstitious and indefensible reasons.
@BlueVeins You are 7% of the world population and you run around screaming that your religion is not a religion! You basically are more obsessed with God than any faithful people on this planet. If Christians were as devout and devoted to their religion as atheists are to theirs , they would be doing much better! Sorry, that you and God had a falling out, but it's not my fault. Work it out brother!
@Emosaur
[quote] If atheism is a religion then "off" is a TV channel.

Normal people are not always obsessing about 'what's on 'off''!

You are 7% of the world population
A total of 16% of people are unafilliated, which is technically different from atheism, but not that much.
and you run around screaming that your religion is not a religion!
I believe I was rather calm in explaining the definition of religion to you. Seriously, this isn't rocket science; what part of, "a religion is a system of beliefs" do you not understand?

If Christians were as devout and devoted to their religion as atheists are to theirs , they would be doing much better!

As you say that, Muslims are executing people for the crime of not believing in God, or for just being gay. Christians are silencing dissenters to their religion, and Jews are skirmishing with those Muslims over a piece of land they believe they deserve because God gave it to both of them in their respective mythologies. Seriously, take a look outside your little bubble.
Sorry, that you and God had a falling out, but it's not my fault. Work it out brother!
God didn't have anything, or do anything, or say anything, because (guess what!) he doesn't exist. Unlike you, I don't fantasize about the world being ruled by a totalitarian crybaby.
@BlueVeins
Christians are silencing dissenters to their religion

In a nut shell, Christians are basically risking their lives to save the lives of others. The homeless in the USA would be completely screwed without the work that Christians do for them, but all over the world Christians put their lives on the line to feed, clothe, house, educate, provide medical care and preventive medicine for, people who would otherwise have no hope or help at all. You make a completely false statement and expect it to go unnoticed? That's right up there with Emosaur's brilliant assertion that wearing a cross or a Bindi is "forcing their religion on others."

@puck61 100% of the world's population are Atheist in respect of the vast majority of gods. Some take it a few gods more and are Atheist in respect of all of them. There is only one god difference between an Atheist and a monotheist.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@puck61 First of all, that's a strawman argument; I never said there were no good people who are also Christians. Second of all, you say that as if atheists weren't also out there putting their lives on the line to feed, clothe, house, educate, and provide medical care for people who would otherwise be screwed. Don't kid yourself.
@BlueVeins I never said that you said that! Atheists aren't known for their selfless devotion to helping their fellow man! Doctors without borders might have a few atheist members.
@puck61 Nonsense. Many atheists go to their deaths with more serenity and equanimity than many religious people do.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@puck61 So? That's just a stereotype, and it probably comes from the fact taht atheists don't... particularly wave around a metaphorical flag of atheism while we're helping people out; most of us do it just to do it. The generally low number of people who identify as atheists probably doesn't help, either. Your argument basically boils down to your own lack of knowledge.
@BlueVeins
Your argument basically boils down to your own lack of knowledge.

Dude, I fecking know everything and I'm immortal! I taught Billy J Sidis everything he knew, and I scratched up the trajectory data for Apollo 11 on bar napkin while I was blacked out on vodka! Oppenheimer used to copy off my paper in school, and I invented the internet, so don't 'even' go there!
BlueVeins · 22-25
@puck61 Interesting perspective. I suppose I can't prove any of those things false.
