@hippyjoe1955 Whether or not life can be created in a lab doesn't do anything to prove the existence of a deity
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@CookieLuvsBunny Did I ever say it did?
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F
@hippyjoe1955 You presented that scenario as evidence of a creator
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@CookieLuvsBunny Your point being? If you want to know Seek. If not fall off the face of the earth and no one will feel the worse for it.
SW-User
@CookieLuvsBunny wouldn't that DISPROVE the creator? Since the soul is supposed to be a unique, mysterious entity that supposedly fuels both the mind and connect it to the body?

Science cannot yet explain how a completely healthy body can be dead. Proving you can make a perfectly dead body ALIVE would be disproving God's ability, right?

Scientists haven't CREATED life, yet, though. The closest thing ao far was the swapping of cell contents to test if it would be able t survive and reproduce, and that worked. More so an altering, but not creating, to my understanding
@SW-User Suppose we come to understand abiogenesis and can create life in the lab. I agree with @CookieLuvsBunny. That doesn't prove there is no God unless we assert that life is just material. Which people of faith from the Abrahamic traditions to Buddhists, Sikhs, and Hindus reject.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SW-User Life is more than a body. I have witnessed enough deaths to know that. Something you can never understand.
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F
@SW-User If life were to be created artificially it would end any claim of a deitie's uniqueness.
SW-User
@hippyjoe1955 why would I not be able to understand it?

@CopperCicada I am not agreeing or disagreeing
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F
@CopperCicada Synthetic life wouldn't prove god doesn't exist necessarily but would prove god isn't necessary for life to occur
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SW-User Your comment above indicates to me that you have no spiritual awareness. It takes spiritual awareness to understand.
SW-User
@CookieLuvsBunny assuming life only comes from God. Things that would defeat God would be creating matter and giving life to the absolute dead again. I am just saying that mone of that has happened and that we have not successfully created life in a lab
@CookieLuvsBunny Yes. Or that artificial and natural life differ in some way. Or God intervenes and makes the artificial bunny alive instead of just a mass of cells laying there.
SW-User
@hippyjoe1955 I have a very strong spiritual awareness and believe in the existence of God 😂

I am just objectively speaking
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SW-User So have you ever been present at the time of someone's passing?
SW-User
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SW-User So describe your experience.
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F
@hippyjoe1955 I have been twice and absolutely nothing happened out of the ordinary.
SW-User
@hippyjoe1955 it was my great aunt in a hospital. She was very weak and slowly was slipping in and out of consciousness and slowly drifted off into her death, which was caused by an illness I don't remember
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@CookieLuvsBunny OK so you are not as spiritually aware as you think. I have been asked by family and friends to attend the passing of a loved one and every time I have known when the spirit leaves the body. As death approaches there is spiritual darkness and dread until the moment of death when there is great light and relief. Life is not simply physical. It is also spiritual.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955 Smoke less weed.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@QuixoticSoul I have never touched the stuff. Unlike some others who imagine that they know science 'cause science and stuff.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955 Maybe you should start smoking then. What sort of a hippy are you anyway?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@QuixoticSoul Never was a hippy never wanted to be a hippy. My friend called me Hippy when I left the Armed Forces and began wearing an earring. Long before it was popular or common for men to wear earrings.

@hippyjoe1955
If you want to know Seek.
But you berate and insult all the people who DO seek. We seek the answers and you hate us for it, and call us names and tell us to stop doing what we're doing and say we're stupid.
