@GodSpeed63You cannot have life without death. If things were not suppose to die parasitic species of animals could not exist. The life cycles of many Monera involve the consumption of dead organisms or cells. Most species of living things either could not live without or actually are the cause of decay.
👍 We would be up to our necks in dinosaur poop and dead bodies from them and everything that has ever lived and died since then. @CookieLuvsBunny

@CookieLuvsBunny
You cannot have life without death.
Who says we can't have life without death? In this fallen world, that is true but with God all things are possible.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@CookieLuvsBunny Vultures feed on carrion, flies serve the purpose of decomposing, bottom-feeders metabolize the nutrients from the remains of fish, and then when the bottom-feeders die, their bodies are broken down into simple sugars by algae.

Death is necessary for new life to grow.

You're not far from the kingdom of God, my friend. There's some truth in what you just said.
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F
@GodSpeed63 Not true. There are millions of species dependent on being able to live off of other species. "God" didn't make parasitic worms if they were not going to parasitize other species
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@GodSpeed63 This has nothing to do with the "kingdom of god." You're always the last horse to cross the finish line on these concepts because you can't just accept them for what they are. You can't take them at face value so you have to try to find some other meaning in them to comfort yourself, to sugarcoat the truth of death and give yourself some hope that it isn't truly the end.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@CookieLuvsBunny He speaks of a system so designed as being overwhelming proof of god yet then uses evidence against a designed world to confirm the existence of his god.

A non-falsifiable claim. How fucking convenient.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@CookieLuvsBunny God made everything perfect. Those parasitic worms wouldn't have been parasitic worms at all. There'd be no need for them.
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F
@GodSpeed63 So the parasitic worms came after the "creation"! You just denied your own creationist theory LOL
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@GodSpeed63 "God made everything perfect in the world because he designed it."
"Then what about all the horrible stuff that exists in the world? Did God design all those things too?"
"God had to make things imperfect because life needs death, and vice versa."

You're contradicting yourself.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@CookieLuvsBunny Wait wait, there's another possible explanation for his statement. Maybe...he thinks the parasitic worms are intelligent enough to possess free will!

Now THAT would be scary. Hyperintelligent parasitic annelids.
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F
@BlueMetalChick Christians believe "God" made the good but was on a smoke break when the bad happened
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@CookieLuvsBunny Or else that the bad happened because he gave us free will to do whatever we want and we chose the bad.

Which leads to the obvious question, if god gave us free will then why does he still set rules for us to follow? I mean, we follow our own rules because of intrinsic human morality, like don't kill or steal or rape or kidnap because we know we wouldn't want others to do those things to us. But all those smaller rules that God speaks of in the bible, like don't cut your hair, don't shave your face, don't eat shellfish, don't mix two fabrics in your clothing, and so on. If God gave us free will and ability to exercise it then why does he keep telling us not to do things that cause no harm to others?
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F
@BlueMetalChick That "free will" crap is their answer to anything they do not want to contemplate
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@CookieLuvsBunny That and "the lord works in mysterious ways." Continue a discussion on theology for long enough with someone and eventually they'll step on their own tail. But highlight the conflicting logic or contradictory claims and the cop-out reply with always be "well the lord works in mysterious ways."
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F
@BlueMetalChick You have free will to murder and rape and start wars but not to shave or cut your hair or eat bacon. We both know those "rules" are just attempts to control people
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@CookieLuvsBunny Oh, don't forget you have the free will to sell your daughter into slavery if she's a rape victim because that means she's unclean and therefore not fit to marry.
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F
@BlueMetalChick The condoning of barbaric behavior in the Bible is undeniable. That otherwise intelligent people believe such nonsense is astounding
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@CookieLuvsBunny And keep in mind, this is POST REFORM Christianity. Ever wonder why Islam seems even more barbarous and inhumane? Because Islam hasn't enjoyed the periods of reform by educated theologians that Christianity and Judaism have.

So even after the reform, we still have this goofy shit in religious fundamentalism.
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F
@BlueMetalChick This thread is so convoluted now that I can barely keep up with it😁
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@CookieLuvsBunny I'm rereading some of the previous parts of the arguments here because it's gone on so long that I forgot half the shit I wrote 😂
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F
@BlueMetalChick There are things I know I wrote that I cannot even find now🧐
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@BlueMetalChick what you are forgetting about parasites is that they were all vegetarian before "the fall" just like all the current carnivores. It was us evil, sinful humans who perverted God's perfect creation when Eve gave into curiosity.

Do you understand it all now? Can't you see that science can never be true unless it confirms their religious beliefs?

Damn, when are they going to give us a sarcasm tag 😀
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F
@Bushranger Your answer is more believable than anything the religious zealots have put out there
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@CookieLuvsBunny I'm just repeating what I've read in post on here. It's astounding that there are people who believe it.
