Neither Theist or Scientist have ever Proven why we exist.
SW-User
The difference is that scientists acknowledge that whilst theists claim to know even without a shred of evidence. I could float a hypothesis that our ancient ancestors were deposited here by beings from another galaxy, and I would have just as must tangible proof as a theist. The main difference would be that my hypothesis wouldn't have been passed down as hearsay for centuries.

@softspokenman The difference is, science doesn't seek to prove why we exist. That isn't the point of science. Theism, on the other hand, does seek to answer that question. And it's failed, so far.
Science tries to prove whether or not the Universe always existed and always will or did something happen to cause it to happen. Theist try to prove that a deity that created itself from nothing created the Universe and everything in it. Neither has been 'Proven' to be true.@BlueMetalChick

@softspokenman What science tries to prove whether or not the universe always existed and always will? Cosmology, perhaps, or even theoretical physics. But the majority of sciences are much more specific than that. Biology, for example, or botany, or chemistry.
'Closer To Truth' is a Public Television series featuring Scientists, Philosophers, Theologians, and Scholars, exploring the deepest questions of Cosmos, Conciousness, and Meaning - the structure of the universe, the nature of the mind and the search for ultimate reality. An interesting program. @BlueMetalChick

@softspokenman Those topics interest me for short periods of time but I confess, I really have never had a strong desire to pursue that kind of truth. Because I don't think that I or really any human is capable of understanding it, not yet, anyway.

Or at least that's what I tell people. The real reason probably has more to do with the fact that I'm a terrible person and I don't wanna think about the kind of harm I've done lol

@softspokenman I'm not really sure I know what you're trying to say.
