Oh please, a bronze age myth written by people so dense they spent forty years making a 19 day trek through the desert has nothing to offer by way of valuable information.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@redredred You're a complete dunce most of the time but on this one, I couldn't agree more.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@redredredThen how come it's taking you 60 years or more to figure out that the Word of God is exactly that, the Word of God? Did you read about any of those people, who they were and what they did? How far did you get in school?
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@GodSpeed63 Sure, and I read a copy of People Magazine last week. That was the word of God too.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@BlueMetalChick So?
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@GodSpeed63 The point is, anyone can say anything ever written is the word of God and it means jack shit because they're making it up. You have no idea if it's the word of God or not.

@BlueMetalChick Like the "King James Version" of God's word? If that's not a disclaimer/admission in the title, I've never seen one.
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F
@redredredTrue. There is no historical evidence that a nation was held captive by Egypt. The entire saga is a myth.

youre a brainless skank all the time.@BlueMetalChick
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@redredred Lol. Skank. Did you really just call me promiscuous? Me, who hates all of human sexuality, doesn't ever have sex, doesn't ever flirt, doesn't dress provocatively...you think I'm a skank. That's so cute, you're trying so hard.
Here, let's give that another go. Try words more like "bitch" or "cunt" or "spag." Insults that have to do with a person's temper or hostility. I can tell you're new at this whole "insulting other people" thing so I'll give you a helping hand to start you out with.

i have two masters degrees, an MBA and a Masters in Economics. At what point in this discussion did I suggest that any of this was the word of god? There is no god.@GodSpeed63

A "skank" by definition is too repulsive for sexual activity, hence, you.@BlueMetalChick
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@redredred Don't bother, I listed my academic achievements to him too and he only replied with "science degrees and science awards don't make you a scientist."
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@redredred No, a skank by definition is a woman who acts promiscuous, dresses slutty, sleeps around a lot, and has low standards. Hence, not me.
And even if we go by YOUR definition, a woman too repulsive for sexual activity, you'd still be wrong, because I have a veritable fan club of people who want to have sex with me purely based on my physical appearance.

@redredred I have a fixation with abusive profanity. I even wrote a dissertation on it when I was in community college. I'm also one of those people who is super retentive about the definitions of words. I get irrationally angry when people misuse a word and it doesn't adhere to its definition.
Bitch. Now you're doing better. See, you need to identify what characteristic in me you're trying to insult. In this case it would be my cockiness and my confrontational attitude. So you should be using the appropriate language. Bitch is a good start. You might also make use of "dickhead" or "asshole."

You got that right, sister.
You’re missing the whole point. We all know there were translations necessary for those people of different languages around the world. But don’t think for one minute God did not preserve His Word and main theme of the Bible.
God promised to preserve His Words:
Psalm 12:6-7 says, "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever." Then we read in Psalm 100:5 that ". . . . his truth endureth to all generations," and Jesus said in John 17:17 that God's WORD is truth.
Never underestimate God or His power. Nothing is impossible for God. Where there appears to be no way, God makes a way. God is very capable of using anyone He pleases, as His very own instruments of righteousness in order to preserve His word.
The authors all present different perspectives, but they all proclaim the same one true God, and the same one way of salvation—Jesus Christ (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).

Isn't there something a tad gullible about using a text's words to "prove" that it, itself is divinely correct? I believe there's a term for that, and it's circular reasoning.
Also, if the Bible is so perfect, then why is it so frequently proven-- to any remotely reasonable standard of evidence-- wrong? Have you considered the incompatibiliity between the Tower of Babel story, for example, and the much more scientific observataion that languages gradually diverge over time?

@redredred I haven't checked this conversation in a few days, am I still relevant in this argument?
redredred · M
Still?@BlueMetalChick
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@redredred Well, yeah, I was arguing over the definition of the word "skank" with you, and then with GodSpeed over sentience.
