Sadly, there are always those who choose to mock. [Spirituality & Religion]

I’m sure I’m no different from others here, that have been mocked for their different ways, life styles, or beliefs, so this post is not about my complaining or feeling sorry for myself. There’s something more important that needs to be said and seen here, about our failure to progress.

I've been mocked for my Christian faith, many times over the years. I've been called narrow-minded, fanatical, judgmental, Puritanical, Medieval, a lunatic, delusional, brainless, stupid, and several choice words I can't list here.

Such antics only prove that we have yet to learn how to love, live, and let live. Such insecurities are rooted in sad, lonely, and/or loveless lives. Having yet to resolve issues in their own lives, they find comfort in finding fault in others. At best, it only takes their mind off themselves for a while. Thus, this behavior continues.

This type foolery just reinforces my belief that we’re still no closer to where we should be, when it comes to what Jesus taught about learning how to love one another.

Love one another, and do no harm. It seems like such a simple request, doesn’t it? Yet, throughout history, we see we’ve come no further along in learning the lesson. Such, proves our sinful nature, and WHY we need Jesus to transform and cleanse our hearts.

Not one of us is any better than the other. In the end, we’re all leaving this world, in only our birthday suits. That puts things in perspective, doesn’t it? We are not to hate people who have said cruel things to us. We must keep in mind, that they have a soul, just as we all do, and theirs needs praying for, just as much as anyone else’s.

Whatever went wrong, for them to end up hateful or cruel, we may never know, but before we get pious about it, we must remember that neither are we perfect, nor without sin. Recall what Jesus said to the crowd who wanted to stone the adulteress...”You, who are without sin, cast the first stone!” None could do it.

This is why Jesus said to pray for our enemies. Not because they deserve it, but because He wants to set our hearts free from hate, which can affect our health in the long run. He also wants us to see our enemies through HIS eyes...as human beings with souls that need saving... just as much as ours did, before we were saved.

I pray these people who make fun of, or criticize others, will discover the same mercy I found in Christ—and I pray they find it before they face Him, when this life is over.

Jesus said, “Love one another.” There was no “if” in that sentence.

The bible speaks of the "mockers" and you only need to turn on the TV to see them , it is now called "comedy"! Edgy, daring, challenging, or so it is described. Funny how these bold comedic warriors all toe the PC line.

Jesus Christ knew what bravery was. He stood naked before a baying crowd as his flesh was whipped from his body until his bones were exposed. He was nailed to a cross and ridiculed unto his dying breath and still he would not renounce God.

The modern "comedians" would pee their pants if their hotel room did not supply their bottled water at the correct temperature!
Exactly. Jesus said in the last days, people would call good, evil...and evil, good....such as we see today. It won’t be long before the end. God will not be mocked. @NightTimeWolf

@NightTimeWolf Amen to that!!

Politics in any country thrives on creating divisions, giving people labels, pitting one group against another, divide and conquer!

Jesus brings people together, no divisions, no hate.

I know who I prefer.
Me too!! 😊👆 @NightTimeWolf

@LadyGrace my pleasure!🤗
The Lord gave me a sense of Humour to disarm the critical and sooth the wounds of their victims.
Yes. There are times I get that same sense, like today. I pray that gift shall develop more often than not, in my case. I’m getting there. 😊@Anonymartyr

Yes so many people lead empty lives, there's even a group on here for those whose lives are empty. God so longs to fill that emptiness with His love and peace
I did not know that.

Yes, only Jesus can fill that void. @TheWildEcho
There are several ways to interpret "whitewashed sepulchre" more likely than bible translators could put in print knowing royalty would be reading. Im sure Jesus heard Joseph utter some things, given that He was a carpenter.
Full of corruption would have sufficed but implies criminality, leaving...
Point being: both John the baptist and Jesus had little problem defending the sharp tongued with an oral sword of their own.
@LadyGrace And we are called to love and forgive each other not to cause divisions among brothers and sisters.
Many people memorize scripture and yet do not know His Spirit. Actually according to scripture His word cannot be understood accept by His Spirit.
Paul discovered this on the road to Damascus and the Apostles learned this on the day of pentecost.

In Galatians 5, Paul addresses a matter between converted Jews and converted Gentiles over circumcision. In verse 12 using sarcasm to shame the crtical brothers and sooth the offended, he suggests that the jewish converts in question should castrate themselves. This was far from pollitically correct language. It is unlikely that you or I will experience His Holy Spirit as closely as Paul.
We must all "wander into tje wilderness and wait on God" in order to experience both His word and His Holy Spirit so that we can understand them better.
For me, that was 20+ years ago when I lost everything familiar and became homeless. Since then He alone has kept me company through who and what He chooses and has guided my steps and behavior. My spirit is giving way to His just as Paul had to put away his knowledge as a Pharisee and walk as Jesus and John the baptist, David, the prophets and patriarchs such as Abraham did.
I absolutely love what you said here, and wish people understood that. Yes...scripture cannot be understood, except by His Spirit...the Holy Spirit. I found that out immediately after being born-again. Scripture really came alive to me, as my spirit had joined His. Spirit understands Spirit. @Anonymartyr
@Anonymartyr Are you still homeless?

What is acceptable:
“You can’t do do or say something because of your religion”

What’s not acceptable:
“I can’t do or say something because of your religion”
@LadyGrace .Perfect, I could not agree more!
GodSpeed63 · 70-79, M
@St0ut Religion has nothing to do with God or Jesus. What she is saying is that she wants to be treated with respect and with honor, the way she treats others.
Amen! @GodSpeed63
I love this conversation. But my phone is almost dead. Talk later 🌹
